  • JMS Paypal shows up because you have agreed to pay for goods bought on ebay upon delivery of item/s. Which is then estimated when delivery was and if there happen to be multiple items then is added up accordingly. Hence sometimes a perculiar looking payment goes from your/our accounts. ;);)

Please read the thread, I have already pointed out on 2 occasions that the OP on this thread pre dated the pay on delivery option.

  • In my case this was seen when I paid for something via PayPal. My PayPal account didn't have funds so they took the funds from my linked current account which was set up on opening the paypal account.

All above board in my case. If you don't recognise the transaction though you should still contact your bank and check your PayPal account. There should be a unique ref number on the statement linked to the transaction that you can check in PayPal - thats not there on the DD instruction page in your online banking.

  • I bought some internet minutes at an airport for a few euros and had to use paypal The DD was a result of that Its not a scam

  • I just spoke to my bank about this, they said that PayPal now uses a direct debit system for payments. So when you give them your payment details they set up a direct debit and when you pay for something using PayPal it comes out under that direct debit. It does not mean that payments will be taken on a regular basis, just when you buy something using PayPal.

If you log in to your PayPal account, any amounts that have come out on this 'direct debit' should match up with your purchases.

    Panic over!
  • 00:07 28/02/17 Having just seen two consecutive and unusual payments go through my bank account minutes ago to JPMC I googled to see who this company might be and have ended up registering on this site. I have read the thread but I am not convinced these are not bogus. I have an on line company and had just checked my paypal account before checking the bank. The total in my paypal account was £2062 so no need for paypal to go to my personal account. The two amounts withdrawn were for £7.17 each. I searched the account but these are the only two payments to JPMC.
I immediately checked my direct debits after reading this thread and yes there was one for JPMC which I cancelled straight away. Returned to my bank account transaction page clicked again on the payments and the JPMC bit had disappeared leaving only 'Paypal' as the recipient. I checked again into paypal and no such transactions showing??? I will call paypal and my bank tomorrow to check this out.
  • I have no idea if this is fake or not, but one thing that makes me uncomfortable is the amount of new posters that came on to assure us it was not fake. That normally means that it is.

I regularly buy things on Ebay and other sites which accept payment via PayPal.

Once you have set up a Paypal account and input your bank details or credit card info etc it will show up payment for items you have bought as a direct debit payment on your bank account or statement. You can check off the amounts you have paid by comparing those on your Paypal account against your bank account authorised for making these payments.
Always check off your purchase amounts against your bank account or credit card used.

Not a scam unless you find a discrepancy for something you have not purchased and may have been phished via an email in to giving your details by clicking on a link in an email, you shouldn't have.
Never click on links in emails - always type in correct website address in a new tab.
