Yesterday, I was told to be patient and was hung up on by this manager.
I contacted Ofcom today who are on the case but I just don't understand how hard this can be. And for people who are supposedly managers to hang up on me is just pathetic.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I have just been reading all the forums about Talk Talk and would like to add my absolute frustrating at this despicable company. I asked for a MAC code and was told it would take 3-5 days for it to be sent through by email, but the next day no internet. They had deactivated the broadband. This now means I cannot migrate to new provider. I have spent hours on the phone to absolutely useless individuals who tell you different things each time you phone, they fob you off with absolutely rubbish and now I have to wait 5 days before I can place an order for a new broadband.
I have already logged a complain with Ofcom and will write to the CEO and any one else at Talk Talk and Carphone Warehouse that I can get hold of and will then proceed to complain to Ofcom and any other regulatory body.
If any reads this and is thinking of signing up with Talk Talk DON'T because if you try and move away it is a nightmare.
I am going back to BT and never moving again.0 -
Hi Jane Cox,
Broadband accounts take 10-14 days to disconnect and a request for a MAC would not initiate the cancelation of your service. This should only happen once the MAC is used by the new provider and BT Openreach inform us to cease the broadband service upon transfer. Have you requested that any voice services with TalkTalk are cancelled? Is your landline still active and are you able to make and receive calls? I would need to look into the specifics of your account to find out exactly what has gone on. Would it be possible for you to register and post at https://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums so that I am able to do this for you?
Cheers

I am etremely angry with talk talk, i am currently in contract with them, and have been trying to switch my service to sky so that i recieve only 1 bill for everything, i was prepared to pay the termination fee if sky could take over my line, however when i tryed to do this was told they could not take over my line as talk talk are unbundled from the exchange and andf my line would need to be bundled back into the3 xchange for my service to transfer to them, however for this to happen i wqouyld need to go back to bt and in doing this i would need to take a minumum contract, or i could go to post office who want to charge me 107 pound for a new line!, however i changed my mind and decided to stay with talktalk, only to find out that there new payments system has caused loads of trouble and they are now missing a payment from my account, 1st time i payed on new system, it decided to take two payments from me!! when i only authorised one! then it decides after me making another payment that it wont accpet my payment onto my account but will still take it from my bank account, so they have money in there bank account that shouldnt be there!! I rang up 2 weeks ago 2 request why it had not applied to my account, they apologised and raised a missing payment claim of which i was told it would only take 5days for them to find my payment and apply it to my account, 5days later irang again to see why it had still not been found and they told me to fax a copy of my statement which i did, 2 days later i rang again and they told me there fax system was down and they needed me 2 fax it again , which i did, i rang again today and they told me they had not recieved the fax again!! so i requested they cancel my line, and they had the nerve to saythat i would be liable to the charge for termination, they then offered to to credit my account so that my service wouldnt be interupted due to none payment, and once the payemnt was found they would remove the credit, 14 days (2 calls a day to talk talk) after the original complaint i am still waiting for that payment to be applyed to my account! i am not going to pay anymore bills untill this is sorted, they ahve my money andthere saying they dont!!!0

Hi Amanther1984,
Sorry to hear that a payment made to your account has not been allocated to your account. When you say you used the "new payment system" could you clarify what you mean? TalkTalk is a direct debit only company as the terms and conditions of the service state. The agent is correct in advising you that a cessation fee would be applied to your account if you cancel the service in contract. If you can register and post at https://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums we will be able to trace the payment for you if it has been received by TalkTalk.
Cheers

I was contacted by a lovely English Talk Talk salesperson in August selling me their very cheap phone & broadband package - sounded great!
They soon had my phone line switched over and the bills came in with the first direct Debit in September. I eventually got hold of a MAC code and called up with this - thhis was my first experience with their call centres which appear to be based in India. Not a clue whether she understood a word I said.
I got my next bill and realised that I still hadn't heard any more about the broadband so I decided to chase it up. The chap I spoke to said that the order had not been placed!!He then went through the process again and said the system wasn't asking for a MAC code so it should be fine.
I chased again a week or two later to be told that the order had been rejected - nice of them to let me know! I had the same sales pitch and all the questions to go through again. Then I was transferred to customer services so that I could complain. I was then cut off. I had the same conversation with 5 different foreign people, each of which transferred me to someone else!! The final lady listened to my story and then said, "So what do you want me to do?"
My router arrived last week with a go live date of 9th November. I decided to wait until today to try and connect though! I called their automated line as my username & password had not arrived and it did not recognise my number. I then rang their helpline and spoke to Broadband dept who put me through to someone else. Guess what?! The order had been rejected - again! And yet again, noone had bothered to let me know.
It turns out there is insufficient capacity on the BT exchange. So, Talk Talk have failed to deliver the broadband service and are in breach of their contract. I was then transferred to Customer Services who offered me a £25 credit on my account and said they would try and get the broadband working but I said I wasn't interested. I was then put through to cancellations where the guy offered me a £32 credit on my account while they investigated the problem! I said that I had very little confidence in the company and felt very let down, blah blah, and he said that they could cancel but that BT may lock me into a contract for my line rental!!
I rang BT who said that as I pay Talk Talk this is absolutely NOT true.
I have wasted so much time and money - should have stayed with Orange...
Now have to face ringing their cancellations dept again and see what they say...0 -

I've just joined the forum to post on this thread.
Talk Talk are rubbish.
We stupidly signed up for their service on the 11 November, moving away from Virgin.
We have been waiting ever since for a wireless router and to be connected to their service.
We have phoned them more than 8 times to discuss and you are either on hold for 20 minutes or more and even CUT OFF!
We finally got through to a so called customer service rep on Sunday and told him we have had enough and we are staying with Virgin. Whcih he said was fine and they will cancel the service, even though its not connected and we have never used it!
Today we get phone call saying the service will be connected tomorrow and we have a bill of £54.
My wife explain (AGAIN) that we are not with Talk Talk and never have been. The man on the other end of the phone said thats fine but we still owe Talk Talk £54 and they will not release our phone line until we have paid!
PAID FOR WHAT!!!!!! We have'nt used your connection, we have not received any wireleess router and we do NOT want the service.
My wife has just phoned me up in tears having just being very rudely spoken to by one of their customer services people, nice.
So to sum up nearly a month of Talk Talk, they are the most useless bunch of people we have ever dealt with, worse than waiting 40 minutes on the phone for Sky and even worse than BT.0
