Talk Talk Complaints

I have specifically joined this forum to give my personal experience of becoming a customer of Talktalk.
I will start by saying every time I hear the word 'talktalk' or see the advert and watch 'X Factor' I am reminded of an experience which at the time had a serious effect on my life, my business and my friends and family.
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with, the list of complaints is too long to explain, the customer service in my personal experience is next to zero.
The song 'Another brick in the wall' which was and might still be the tune played whilst being kept waiting on the phone for receiving service has made a lasting impression on my memory and now sends shivers down my spine.
My advice to anyone is avoid TalkTalk like the plague, read others experience on many forums and then for 'Gods sake' believe what is written.
They completely failed to provide me with a service which was useable.
My best part of contact was when after a news paper story I was contacted by customer services who offered compensation and I only requested the release of my Mac Code and that they never contact me again ever.
Since leaving I rejoined BT and have never had a problem, which includes telephone line noise, continual loss of broadband, constant loss of the telephone line all problems on a daily basis with 'TalkTalk' I spent days after day trying to phone 'customer service often up to 6 hours and then had an operator put the phone down, I was promised a reconnection within a set period and that never happened.
WARNING TALK TALK are your worst nightmare IF things go wrong.0 -

I am happy to help anyone I can... However it is difficult to help individuals in a thread like this which has a number of conversations and people.
If you post a new thread for your issue, i will happily take a look and help, you can also post on our facebook wall facebook.com/talktalk or join the members forum.

Absolute nonsense, this is the thread that you are supposed to use. You read each individuals complaint and you address it with them personally through private communication.
If we had a different thread for each complaint the whole forum would be overrun with TalkTalk this and TalkTalk that.0 -
Glad I'm not the only one who has had a nightmare experience with Talktalk!! [Actually I wish I was the only one, so no-one else would have to suffer their incompetence!]
I've had bills for an account I didn't have, demands from a debt collecting agency, and they have blocked calls from relatives who were Talktalk subscribers even though I am with BT. This has been going on since last October when I cancelled a subscription to their Essentials package and returned their modem - even though they had signed for the modem, which also included a letter confirming the cancellion of the contract, they kept billing me! It is only since I told them I was contacting Ofcom that my daughter has been able to get through to my landline.0 -
Hi Emma
I am not quite sure where to turn next, and indeed I have taken the decison to leave Talk Talk having been a customer for over 15 years first with Tiscali and now, since the transfer, Talk Talk. However I feel someone in authority should be aware of the way the company's customer service team is run as I would hate for other MSE users to have to experience the poor level of customer service I have experience over what started out over a month ago a as simple customer enquiry but has now left me no chioce but to leave!
I can fill you in on on the details but probably too much to go into in this thread!
Kind regards

Thought I should join this thread to share my Talk Talk nightmare with fellow punters who feel the same way about this frankly rubbish outfit. We joined Tiscali in late 2007 on a phone only service, in mid 2008 we upgraded to a bundled phone and broad band package. We saw out our 2 year and were offered a replacement package for an approx 200% price increase. We gratefully declined and moved to another provider (only after being assured that we would not be subject to cancellation fees as we had seen out our original 2 year contract).
A couple of months later I noticed that Talk Talk had debited my account £390!! I called their customer service line and was told that they could not do anything because accounts were being moved across to Talk Talk from Tiscali. I was advised to call back three weeks later. I called back three weeks later and during that (rather long winded call) Talk Talk admitted that they had taken money from my account because of a confusion surrounding my move to another ISP. They gave me a reference number and told me the £390 would be paid pack to me after 30 days.
30 days have elapsed and there is still no cash. I tried calling their customer service number tonight but was caught in a loop of terrible pop music.
At present I am £390 out of pocket, which has been stolen from my account. At no time was I notified that any money would be taken out of my account or that I was in breach of a contract. The more I read about the appalling Talk Talk customer service and its shocking stakeholder management the more worried I am that I may never be refunded my 390 quid.
What should my next step be? Should I complain to Ofcom? Should I carry on calling Talk Talk?
Any advice much appreciated.0 -
Yes!
Complain now!
You've already left it too long (you should have used the Direct Debit guarantee to force your bank to return the funds immediately - but it may be too late now).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Cheers Heinz - will get onto my bank today. thanks again.0

I heard nothing since my complaint to TT after 2 weeks. I replied back and CC this email address. Instant result with CEO office saying they are terribly sory for the problems and promise to refund my money and given me a direct line for a senior manager to call to discuss some technical problems that still need resolving!:j0 -
I dont know where to turn to.
I was with them for 4years. when i moved they refused for me to take my number so i went with BT who were able to take transfer it over(I have a small bussiness with this number)
So anyway i had recently signed up for 24months with talk talk. so they landed a bill for £299 on my doorstep for bretch of contract. I tried to disput this, because they couldnt take my number over when i was in the right area on the right line. I bourght this number to them they didnt supply me with it.
Talk talk did all they could to make me cancel with them so they could keep my number.but i didnt.
I sent a letter to the ceo office and they agreed as a good will gesture to knock £50 off the price and to confirm our conversation in writing and to not worry i could pay when i can in istallments.
So i waited and waited and NO NEWS they i had a FINAL DEMAND. So i called and made a payment of £100 on the 28thjan11 and wrote another letter explainning that i was waiting for confirmation from them befor i made payment!(which i NEVER got!)
I was told i'd get confirmation for the payment made and never received this. But i called to make another payment and the guy on the phone was rude and bullying. Telling me he was gonna send it to the debt collecters if i didnt pay it. I said i was calling to make a payment but i am not giving my personal car details on the phone so a rude man who i dont understand. When i have previously been told , I state " Dont worry"
Then i received a call in regards to my letter saying dont worry things have not been assed on the debt collector. then i had a letter dated the 4th march saying things havent been passed over but to make a payment.
3days later i receive a letter from credit sollutions debt collectors saying i owe the £164.
I have now been hassarred about 5 times a day by calls and messages from them.
I called talk talk and was told they were sorry it was an error on there behalf and my details were being retracted and it would ake 5days. well 10days later Credit solutions are still on my case so i called again in tears. AGAIN we are sorry this is our mistakes we will remove this error.
Still hasnt stoped, so i spoke to credit solutions and they sadi nothing was sent though from talk talk, so called AGAIN and spoke to yet another foren person who NOPE HE COULD NOT REMOVE MY DETAILS FROM CREDIT SOLUTIONS> so i am now confused as this was meant to have been done and confirmed it was done by another member. i have been lied to and i am being harrased.
and of corse tehre is no telephone number so i wrote AGAIN with copies of the letters recorded delivery. The guy refused my requeste to make payment as this is out of there hands and this i need to call credit sollutions.
I am so upset and confused. I am pregnant and i have never refused to pay the outstanding amount. (although its not even for a service i had its just a bretch of contract)
I instead made payment online yesterday. but I am still getting harrased by the debt company. Please can some advise me.
I cant stand speaking to yet another asian person who doesnt know what is going on and who is rude to me. I think i deserve compensation.
I have never refused paying, always kept communication.:(
thanks and so sorry its long x0
