Aw Snidely, that's a bit of a shocker! How strange that she just decided to test your blood - perhaps she saw some signs & thought better safe than sorry & did the test - it's great you have such good medical professionals
I always get up to pee in the night but I have always put it down to a bladder the size of a sparrow!
I do get an annual blood test now to test my thyroxine levels or T levels or some such so I know I don't currently have it.
I'm so shocked at the price these days for a prescription - but luckily (?) I am also on free ones now because of my thyroid medication.Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

Nah, She just likes to cause me pain. She insisted that I have a flu jab as well. Just an excuse to stick another needle in! :rotfl:
Seriously Dr Sally is an excellent GP who has served us well over the years:beer:Any war that lasts for longer than five years should be declared a draw.:beer:0 -

I went to see Dr Sally last week with the Leader of the Opposition and she did a routine blood test on me. It wasn't even my appointment! She rang me earlier this week and told me I have type 2 diabetes. ......Anyhow it means that I have to take more pills than The Opposition every day. I have to take 7 what with the blood pressure and cholesterol tablets while she just has 6. Mind you her's are free 'cos of her thyroid condition while I have to pay.;)

Not sure where you are Snidely but if you're diabetes type 2 you should be entitled to an exemption certificate (unless your diabetes is controlled by diet alone).....unless they've changed the rules.
Who can get a prescription exemption certificate?
People who have certain medical conditions
Although there are many conditions requiring regular medication, only the following qualify for an exemption certificate:- A permanent fistula requiring dressing.
- Forms of hypoadrenalism such as Addison's Disease.
- Diabetes insipidus and other forms of hypopituitarism.
- Diabetes mellitus except where treatment is by diet alone.
- Hypoparathyroidism.
- Myasthenia gravis.
- Myxoedema (underactive thyroid) or other conditions where supplemental thyroid hormone is necessary.
- Epilepsy requiring regular anti-epilepsy medication.
- If, because of a permanent disability, you cannot leave your home without help.
If you have a Medical Exemption Certificate or Maternity Exemption Certificate, all your prescriptions are free, whatever the medication is for.
Will point out that you do have to ask for the form - they don't automatically give you one with the diagnosis:rolleyes:
