Wow! I'm having a lucky day today! 1 big win 2 small ones and now an unexpected pressie!

I did a some research in the summer for Empire stores which I was phoned and invited to do, they gave really good incentive cheques for it and it was fun. Completely out of the blue just now I got a delivery from Empire, to which I was muttering that I hadn't ordered anything blah blah and when I opened it there was this beautifully wrapped in cellophane and ribbons pressie of three bottles of wine and a thank you card from Empire! how lovely it that!

I have actually taken out one bottle, added some choccies from my Impulse hamper and re-wrapped it to use as a pressie for our friends 25th anniversary party tomorrow night, now that's money saving :money::rotfl:
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

Wow - that's really good of them Nicky! :) & a great MSE idea too!

:o OK was no one going to tell me that there wasn't a website called Dr Google :o Have been looking around for one & thought it would be like google maps or something.... BF just asked what I was still hunting for & when I told him he nearly wet himself with laughter! He's explained now & I've stopped looking for a Dr Google website :rotfl:
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

    Ah VG never mind!

Well done Nicky what a lovely surprise!

My painting in colour didn't go quite as well as with the white. Did one and a bit walls but no where near done... and it will definitely need a second coat. And it turns out my brush is carp so I'm gonna have to buy a new one tomorrow. Poo. Anyway, cleaned up for night as we're off to the in laws for a "planning meeting" - we're sorting out everything for the holiday tonight like tickets etc - only four months away now! And that comes with a take-away so that's good too!

Hope everyone enjoys their evening. See you later/tomorrow.

I went to see Dr Sally last week with the Leader of the Opposition and she did a routine blood test on me. It wasn't even my appointment! She rang me earlier this week and told me I have type 2 diabetes. It's not a big issue for me and is hardly surprising given my indolence and it does explain why I have to get up at night to wee. I had put that down to my age! Anyhow it means that I have to take more pills than The Opposition every day. I have to take 7 what with the blood pressure and cholesterol tablets while she just has 6. Mind you her's are free 'cos of her thyroid condition while I have to pay.;)

The point of this nonsense is that I discovered that it is cheaper for me to get a prescription "season ticket" for a £10.25 a month Direct Debit than to pay for my scripts as I go. So if anyone else is spending a lot on drugs it might be worth you doing the same. ;)

Sorry about the diagnosis :undecided. I get a season ticket every year - I tend to pay for mine upfront though, and I always get my refills a bit early - it depends how strong your pills are whether you can refill a few days or a week early - I hoard my tablets & it means a 1 year season ticket usually lasts me around 14 months! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
