Anyone know how long it takes for them to contact you?
Thanks
Hi there
I think this may vary, my son was interviewed about 3 weeks prior to starting with the DWP.
My sister a month after more or less.
Good luck anyway.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

None of my referees have been contacted so far...

I was interviewed mid March... I got sent my CRB last week. I apparently need to send that back...

Brilliant.:T
I expect everything will go fine, good luck in your new job and hope you hear something very soon.
We are in Wales, and as soon as they contact the referees, it should be sometime after you will hear something.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I wouldn't put your hopes too high as they don't seem organised.0 -
Hi Folks - DWP seem to be on a Fast Track at the moment - I had an interview on Wednesday for AO at Peterborough. I was given all the docs the day before, and this included a form to sign so that they can contact your present or last employer, Pension! CRB and Health declaration. I had to take my passport, driving licence, AND utilities bill, my two previous P60 tax forms. The only thing they did not ask for at this stage, was my DNA. As far as the interview went, I thought it went well, but time will tell. One thing I can say, is these interviewers do not give anything away at all, with regard to how well, or how poor you have done. I could not pick up anything. Anyone else find that? Good luck to everyone who is in the process at the moment, it does seem as if you have to have enormous patience to see it through.0

Hi - does anyone know what happens if you turn down a post? I was offered a choice of 2 today but to be honest in the long term I can't cope with the travelling - was wondering if you say no do they keep you on the list and offer another location? Got to let them know tomorrow - AAAHHHHHRRRGGG!0

Hi,
I've had 4 interviews so far. Two EO and Two AO. I had Coventry which was a really strange interview compared to the other 3.
I rang dwp today and i should hear something tomorrow, i wish i never phoned i feel so nervous now!!
Has anyone applied for the benefit officer as there are different competencies for them. which is stressful as i have been preparing with other competencies.0 -
I went through the interview/selection process for Executive Officer with DWP. This was done in Coventry. I got sent a letter weeks ago saying I'd been successful...great. I sent off all the info they asked for (employment history/CRB etc etc). Then a few days later I got another letter saying I'd been successful in another job! Phoned them and they said the 2nd letter was sent in error.
I didn't hear anything for weeks afterward and then phoned to see what was happening. I was sent around the houses and at one point told I hadn't actually got the job...and then told "oh sorry, yes, you have got the job...I'd got you on the wrong list!!!" I was also told that, since the recruitment process had started, most of the jobs would now be fixed-term contracts instead of permanent as originally advertised.
So, I've now been called and told I've got the job. It's an 18-month contract in the office I actually put down as my first choice. The start date is July!
I spoke with someone who used to work at DWP and she said that the fact it's an 18-month contract shouldn't be a worry. She feels that once you get into the DWP it's a job for life...if you want it.
I thought that maybe I was the only one who'd been somewhat perplexed by the DWP selection/employment process. After reading this thread I realise I'm not.
So, I've got the job but am unsure as it's not permanent. I'm working already and like my job but there is no scope for progression and the DWP is alot more money.
Not sure what to do...any advice.
I realise that, in these current circumstances, I'm very lucky to have a choice.0
