Anyone else get a phone call for IRC62668 (Executive Officer, London) earlier today stating that they made a mistake in relation to the competencies, and that one of the five shouldn't be "Analysing, Improving and Changing", but rather "Managing People and Performance"?

    Yeah, I got that too.

Hmm so it seems that this set of EOs are going to be managing teams as well. I explicitly asked if managing was part of the role for the one I applied for (this was back in May) and was told a firm no. Those positions have been filled in August and this October afaik.

On the 4th Aug i attended my competancy based interview for IRC 61505 at a hotel, my interview was taken place inside a hotel room which was very strange, but the manpower reps were very nice and tried to put me at ease.
At the end of the interview they asked whether i had any questions and i asked a few regardind the job but, because they knew nothing about working for dwp or anythinthing regarding the job, they couldn't answer any of my questions, Daon't know why they asked if the couldn't answer any lol.

Anyway yesterday i recieved my crb disclosure from the dwp, and today i recieved a letter saying thank you for attending the assessment day. I am pleased to inform you that you have been successful.

We are now undertaking pre-recruitment checks and you will be contacted again once these are complete to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a post.

Has any1 else recieved a letter like this and does that mean i will be offered a job or could i still be unsuccessful.

Hi, I have just managed to get through to the dwp, after being given SIX different numbers to ring! I have applied for the same ref as you. I have been told that my recruitment checks have come back ok and my details have now been passed to the business section. Was also told that dwp are waiting to hear from the job centre when the recruitment starts again as they were reviewing their staffing requirements. This should be by the end of the month. Also depressingly was told that i am 97th on the waiting list out of 130 odd. They couldnt tell me any more than that, but the number i rang ended in 6985. Try that and maybe they can tell you how far along you are. Good luck :o

    Oh. My. God.

I have a tale to tell that will blow you away with how completely shambolic the DWP recruitment process is. I understand very well now how it takes so stupidly long for them to actually hire someone.

I won't tell the full story until it comes to completion. I've got some more phone calls to make to find out more information. For now, though, I will just say that regardless of whether I get offerred one of the jobs I applied for I'll be taking a complaint to the highest levels, because it's totally unacceptable what I've been put through over the last couple of months.
    Hi Thylacin
I think after all this ordeal we got to get Anne Robinson frm Watchdog to really get someone frm the DWP to explain all this hoohaa abt the recruitment process/why the long wait with no feedback/ surely an email would hv put mind at rest instead of leaving us in the dark..What do u think??

I had my interview today in Coventry for IRC 61880 job based in Coventry/Warwickshire.

Actually the interview seemed to go well. Lasted about half an hour, they asked 4 questions based on the competencies.

Tell me about a time when you have provided a Professional Service
Tell me about a time you have delivered a good Customer Service
Tell us when you have personally developed your Knowledge in order to do your job.
Tell us when you have used evidence to guide your work.

The last one was a little odd, but as a nurse I used the evidence based practice I have used in the past.. The two guys were friendly, didn't give too much away aside from telling me I did well and that what I had to say was varied and well delivered.. They said I have to wait 3 weeks before I hear anything more from them..
D'arney u did not mention which is which as in EO or AO posts u were referring..Hope u get it..Good Luck

Just wondering if anyone can help me out - I have an EO interview coming up next week in London, and the 5 competencies are:

Delivering a Professional Service (Level 2)
    Delivering a Customer-Focused Service (Level 2)
Analysing, Improving and Changing (Level 2)
    Building Capability (Level 2)
    Leading (Level 2)

I have examples for Delivering a Customer-Focused Service, Building Capability and Delivering a Professional Service. I'm just wondering if anyone can help clarify a relevant situation in regards to:

    Analysing,Improving and Changing
    Leading

I've lead a football team in the past, but I don't think that will be relevant in this case. Also, I'm not at all sure regarding Analysing,Improving and Changing. I don't want examples, for these competencies are about looking at your own past experience, but I am asking that people give me hints so I can identify relevant situations that I can use in my life.

Also, in the interview, are questions asked just in relation to the competencies, or are other questions asked like: "What is your greatest weakness?", "Why do you want to work here?" etc?

    Thanks in advance.
Hi Sky/ My interview is on the same level on this coming Saturday and i feel already blank...just cannot put anything on paper let alone answering them on the day itself...:( so yea i will back you on that/ any hints.techniques or if anyone could just elaborate on the headed comp and make it sound light as supp to heavy may b i might scrape through..LOL that will b a start..

That looks like an AO position judging by the questions.

Anyone go to the interview today for IRC62668 in Central London? If so, what kind of stuff did they ask you?
  • Hey Spangles39,

I havee also had trouble getting through to the number on the letter and have just phoned the number you said and they took my number and said they will call me back.
I put down Rayleigh, Brentwood, Southend, Basildon and Billericay i think, i know i out them all except Harlow as too far away, where did you put?
Will keep you informed of anything i hear from the DWP and you do the same and we may hopefully get somewhere.
Also on my success letter it didn't mention anything about a waiting list, did yours????
