  • If you receive the £10 Christmas Bonus, you should also receive the extra £60 payable sometime after 1st January (maybe even up to April). The following are eligible:

You may be able to get Christmas Bonus, the one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas. For 2008, an additional tax-free payment of £60 will be paid automatically to those customers getting a qualifying benefit in the week commencing 22 December 2008. This will be paid between January 2009 and March 2009.
    Who is eligible?

To get a Christmas Bonus you must be a resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, any EEA country, or Switzerland and be entitled (unless you are deferring your State Pension) to at least one of the following benefits in the first full week in December:
    • Attendance Allowance
    • Constant Attendance Allowance
    • Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance
    • Disability Living Allowance

    • War Disablement Pension if aged 65 or over
    • War Widow's Pension

  • Hi forum,

Myself and my carer both get the £10 Christmas Bonus, but as of today (4th Feb) she has still not received the extra allowance.

Any further info on this as to when people receive theirs would be grateful.

    Thanks.
  • If you were entitled to the tenner in Nov/Dec you will get the £60 between Jan and March. The ones paid by DLA AA or Carers Allowance will roll out from 2nd March

It is one per qualifying person so if you have 6 kids on DLA (yes it does happen) who got the £ 10 then each one will get the £60. too

dont know if anyone can help but will children on DLA on the low rate of care (around £70pm) get the £60 or do you have to be on the high and middle to recieve this.I havent recieved the £10 xmas bonus but that maybe because my son only recieves low rate care and nothing for mobility as we are in the middle of an appeal to up it to middle which he had always been on.
they will get the 60 pound bonus
