  • Hey managed to get in to work today!

Hope you are all ok with this lovely weather

I have some good news..again! Capital one refused in their first letter to give me my PPI insurance back So I wrote back and argued - today I got a letter - they are giving me £220 back WOOHOO!

I'm going to tell them to pop it back on the credit card

I'm aiming for 12 NSD in Feb

I'm almost at the £2k for then end of Jan so good but not good enough - need to get my bum in gear if i am going to come anywhere near paying £20k of my xmas 2009 - I should be aiming for £1600 a month so i'm lagging - £18,054.24 to go....

  • Well done on the PPI return!! I got £117 from my Abbey CC Charges.. had received a letter back from Barclaycard refusing refund of PPI but haven't written back again yet as I lost the second half of the letter they sent me! I think I will do that today at lunchtime - you've inspired me!! I've really got to remember to bring my Chq book to work as well so that I can send off to my other CC's for getting charges back....! I can't believe the ground you're making on your debts though... I feel like I've done a fair bit but as you say I could always try harder so that's what I'm doing this month - I don't think you should be trying any harder with the hours you've been working already though!!

  • :-) hey good to hear from you elizabeth!

I know i only have £16k left but i wanted that extra £2k to book a holiday so really I need to find another £400 a month from somewhere but to clear it all but i'm determined to come out with some savings

I would I thought about jsut accepting Capital ones no but I thought theres no harm in Arguing and DAH-DAH I'm £200 in less debt than i was yesterday :-). I have received the statements from Cahoot who also included a letter saying case in on hold blah blah blah but i'm going for Financial Hardship so fingers cross that should be another £300 at least - i has spured me on to keep going on all of these CCA's and PPI's as it all really helps and brings me that much closer to my DFD!

I still haven't heard from the HP company so i'm not sure what to do they haven't been in touch at all and the default is still on my account.

I should have £50 cashback on its way from Tesco for my car insurance this week, I've got £10 being refunded from Barclays from a closed account and I got a letter confirming my mortgage is half what it was before xmas!

Hey DTDT, much as I hate to admit it (from the race perspective) You will probably find that as you pay one thing off it gets easier to pay of the next thing, then the thing after that. Not just because of snowballing (he he I did that yesterday) but also becuase you will have fallen into habbits that make saving even more easier.

  • I hope so justruth, it does seem to be once I get money from one thing i start having results with other bits - i've just done my spreadsheet for the cahoot account and its come to £690 - that would be a result so i'm going to send the letter today - i've also noticed insurance on there which i didn't realise i was paying - so I might go down that route that comes in at £1k

    Wish me luck!

  • Hi DTDT

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly with everything... I need to adopt your attitude on chasing things up and more importantly getting started with reclaiming things I should never have paid (oh to have more time to myself!!)

Keep going hun, you're making me motivated!!

If my cahoot claims comes off as well i will have reduced my debt by £1800 using 3 letters - well worth the effort!

Not up to much this weekend i'm saving my money because i start the new job next week WOOHOO but its 4 weeks with no money coming in! so i will need to be little miss frugal.

Ist NSD of the month yesterday - aiming for 12 again because i failed by 3 days last month

Still haven't had mu confirmation from the Sun about the holiday and the cheque was cashed monday last week! getting impatient now -every one at work is booking their holidays and mines not quite antigua but i'd love to at least say i'm going to X in X and i can't even do that!! *LOL*

No word from the HP Company still so thats £2250.00 of my debt balance I don't know what to do with it they have defaulted my account, cashed the £1 CCA fee the 21 day deadline is up - so do I write and demand they remove the account from my credit file? any ideas folks?

  • Hey everone!

Well I had a wicked weekend with my friend staying from up north but it meant it was a bit of a spend weekend so not great but then I didnt go out xmas so I'm allowed to treat myself once in a while.

This is my last week at my old job and i'm getting really excited i'm going to work me backside off this week and store as much money as I can for the next month.

I sent off my Claim for the PPI and the cahoot PPI & bank charges went off too I got £10 back from Barclays for a charge they shouldn't have made and i should get my £50 from Tesco for my car insurance any day

So I am going for 5 NSD this week, i raided Iceland and my freezer is full to the brim reckon it will last the month between now and my first pay day. the ridiculous amount of bath stuff i got for xmas will see me through and I will walk to the station when I can to reduce petrol consumption. I have taken out money for my train fare, left £50 emergency in the current account and the remainder has gone in the savings, I have just pet insurance to pay out next week so that will be the same

I've got 17861 points on dooyoo so i need to get on the case of reviews to bump that up, I will probably do some on the smellies I start using that I got at christmas.

Tesco are sending me at least £8 worth of vouchers which I can buy shopping with if i really need to and I got my first home panel assignment this week - Washing powder! which is a result, I've completed the questons on one and will do the other tonight - i'm not sure what points I get but i got 2 small boxes so at least a months worth!
