hmm... i make my last (and final debt free) payment a week or so before crimbo so its after 1st dec... I know your starting a new challenge but ill be debt free before xmas so technically will have reached my target... so dont make me declare for the 1st, no no no, pppllleeeaaaassseeee ;)

  • After much thought, I've decided to declare on 1 December. That means I'm going to miss my paid capital target - but i've exceeded my total paid total. I'm going to count that as a success! Next year i'm going for £25k paid. Good luck everyone for their declarations! xx
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • I like to be a bit premature (you won't hear many blokes saying that) but I'm willing to declare my total for the year now, just because I can't see any more payments being made before 1st December, and I'd like to make a fresh start.

So, I paid off in total £14,751 in unsecured debt (I also paid off tax arrears and saved a few grand for my daughter's birth but it would be cheating to include them now). Didn't hit my target of 20k, but a damn fine effort if I may say so myself.

Roll on 2010, my debt free year! :T

Well done riches to rags!! I too am hoping for 2010 to be my DFY, so am very much looking forward to the next challenge.

As "results" come in, I will update the front page - so far just the one declaration though......I hope more people make an appearance before the end of the month!!

  • We can have a joint celebration at some point next year then Hypno! I will make a brand new sig at some point but for now, I will sit back and watch the results come in - bit like Eurovision this!

    Hi everyone.

These are my figures for this challenge. We have paid off £18,540 :T:T its a little bit short of what we intended (hubby had to take a 10% pay cut), but we are still so pleased with the figure.

Roll on 2010 challenge, we will be starting on the 3rd December. Aiming for £20k again.....this time we will do it.

    Happy christmas to everyone.:xmastree:
