The plan for us once we are debt free is to firstly go on holiday (haven't been since 2004!) and then I will try and save what we are paying on debts. That way we will keep in the "paying off debt" mindframe but will be saving lots at the same time! I never want to be in debt (apart from mortgage) again once we have paid this off.
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%

Well my cheque arrived this morning from my bingo win. Paid into the bank and I've paid £1000 off of debts this afternoon as can draw that much against uncleareds! WOOP WOOP!

Argh! I have been a bit of an idiot - I sent a payment to Mint twice, which means I now have a credit balance with them! So "technically" I have paid £152 today, but will be getting £136 back. Whoopsy

  • I have been helping a friend out and she has paid me back today so £1050 to the car fund. So adding the car fund to the debt paid means I have paid over £10k which is a quarter of the way to my total :j. (A secret part of me still hopes I will be able to reach the car fund total and pay off 40K but we will have to see:rolleyes:)

    Have a great weekend
