the barstweards at egg! I sooo want to get rid of them and will look forward to closing the account...nasty pasties.

That's the same logic that I work with - whichever lender has been the most vile to me has to be paid off first, so that they earn as little interest as possible!

    Good luck

  • Hi all,

My girlfriend is now 21 weeks preggers, and the second scan tells us we are 90% sure of having a baby girl.....I have decided being a responsible male that she won't be allowed out until she is at least 25!! :D

As the time is drawing near, I have written to my car finance company toput the wheels in motion to voluntarily terminate my agreement with them, as a two seater car is no good for a child and a g/f that doesn't drive (unless I strap one of them to the roof rack). When this all takes affect, my car debt will be gone......and I will (albeit cheatingly) be closer to my target!

    Congratulations on the baby.

How does voluntary termination work? I've heard people speak about it before but never fully understood.

    Thanks

  • Thank you both.

According to my agreement Batfink, I am able to voluntarily terminate my HP agreement as long as half of the original amount owed has been paid (which it has). Therefore I just give the car back to the finance company and call it quits.

As my car isn't worth as much as is owed, it is the most prudent way for me to do it.

Everyone is doing really well! Keep it up, every little bit counts and between us all I think we could beat the £1m target! We are literally throwing everything at the mortgage, and it all mounts up, so if you can only manage a small amount - it will still reduce the debt!:T

Just paid off a lump sum of £1700.27 today. Have updated signature. Hopefully will be able to add a little bit more to this with Ebay sales that are ending soon.

Just popped in to see how it's going - good stuff people! We're quarter of the way at the end of this month. Are you quarter of a way to your target? I know I'm not, but then, it was always an ambitious target for us. Will keep plugging away though! More will be paid on Friday when my salary comes in adn I can use this month's leftover savings to pay a chunk.
