Well done KAston!
I am amassing my payments at the moment ready to pay off nearer my next payday (13 March) so I don't go over my overdraft limit. Feels annoying as I'm not making payments but I have to keep telling myself it will all work out in the end!0 -
Have been paying off mortgage in chunks after doing some sums, receiving cashback, receiving refunds - putting those onto mortgage too, so from my last post I have paid off another £898.60! Yay!
I wasn't taking into account the actual mortgage payment (minus the interest,) before which was rather daft as the mortgage payment minus the interest was reducing the debt still:rolleyes:, I was only counting the overpayments!
Has boosted the amount paid off! :j Makes me realise that we are doing better than we thought. !

Well done all. I was SO naughty yesterday - spent far too much money on clothes (though I do have a reason - I am being sent to review the swankiest hotel in Zurich at the weekend and I have a mass of social engagements. I just felt that sainsbury's jeans and T-shirts weren't going to cut it... ). However, am taking half of them back again today. BUT.... I might buy some more if I see something nice. Given that I haven't bought any clothes for about six months I don't feel TOO bad... Can you tell I'm trying to justify it to myself??!0

Just to say good luck to all of those who have joined in this year.
I wish i could be as dedicated as you lot but I have tried my best. Its taken me 2.5 years to pay of around this amount and, on my wages another 11 months till final payment. Fortunately the OH has just qualified and started this month so double income for the first time. This being said, we hope to have it all paid in 5 months and then to start saving for a deposit on a house (maybe a newer car as mine is a K reg Micra, but maybe not as we love the car - never fails to start and only costs a service, Tax and MOT to run each year).
It does mean tha you need to be honest with yourself and come true about ALL your debts, not just the ones you partner knows about.
I still buy large items occasionally, ie fridge, tv, Mattress on 10 monthly payments but only when the previous one ends. For me, it kind of prevents too much overspending.
Well done and goodluck to you all again,30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0
