My 1st Feb payments have meant that £632 has come off my debt today, so that takes me over £4000 to date, which I am happy with!
There are some good totals coming through - keep going guys!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Floxxie - well done, that's brilliant, and long may it continue! :T
greent - same here, OH didn't claim expenses over a number(!) of years, leading to horrific charges, borrowing money on credit cards, taking out one cc to draw out money to pay another and so on, and so on - and kept me in the dark. I've never been brilliant with money either, but obviously that just compounded matters as I was oblivious and still spending like nothing was wrong - makes me feel sick now to think about it.
Still, we're back on track now, it just takes time & effort to keep plugging away at it, but we'll get there in the end!
Anyway - CCCS has gone out today/tomorrow, so that's another £449 to my total, will update sig now.
Well done everyone, let's keep it going! :T:T:T0 -
Floxie that's astonishing!
So many people are paying off such huge amounts that I really want to ask this question, please don't take it the wrong way - if you can generate so much spare cash, how come you have any debts at all?! I've been trying to think of a way to say that without sounding spikey, it's really not at all, it's genuine curiosity. I've been really scrimping to make extra payments, and we have a pretty good household income (2x fulltime salaries).
And before anyone asks me back, my debt came from 13 months of maternity leave to look after my premmie son, and then supporting my husband through two years of teacher training....!
Hi Sarah..no problems asking. We got in debt due to working on a taxi firm where we didn't take enough money so used personal debt and CCs to subsidise the business. We changed firms nearly two years ago and have managed to shift loads of debt by living frugally(except having a holiday each year)...doing surveys ,using cashback CCs and paying those in full each month....we would've been well on our way to being debtfree but unfortunately the taxi was wrote off last year(10 months old) and because I was paying everything to debt and already had the 10 month old taxi on HP I didn't have a deposit for a new taxi so I have a higher loan payment for longer.
Luckily all my debt and loan figures actually include the interest so if I pay the loans off earlier I'll save money off my total but that's for the future. With the economy the way it is I do not think I will hit my £30k target this year but will do my best.0
