Totally agree with your comments about Cava and cheap sparkling - Uugh !!Morrisons to a Sparkling Rose called Griffith Park normally 6.99 but on special at moment for 5.99 a bottle. It was in all the papers last year as got voted number 7 in some big wine awards for all the best champagnes and sparkling wines in the world. I think its lovely. I don't normally do cheap wine but this ones lovely, really easy to drink. I love champagne but hate cava and cheap sparkling normally."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

I can't understand the snobbery over Cava, I find a good cava much better than a cheap champagne. Its made by exactly the same method.0

Has anybody tried any of the cheap bubblies in Lidl? They have a bewildering choice in there and I don't want to end up with carbonated dieselWe have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

You never really can tell, and it's a bit unfair to generalise. I was not expecting too much when I won a bottle of Tesco own-label Premier Cru champagne at work, and I am not a big fan of champagne anyway, but it was absolutely gorgeous. Similarly, some cavas I have tried have been delicious. A lot of the champagnes I have tried have been disgusting.carolineb23 wrote: »I can't understand the snobbery over Cava, I find a good cava much better than a cheap champagne. I was shopping in Sainsburys yesterday and picked up some Sainsburys Taste the Difference vintage cava for £4.99 (half price, normally £9.99). Remember if you buy 6 bottles of wine, you get 5% off as well, makes it £4.74 a bottle which I thought was pretty good as I have been looking around for nice cava for a while for new year
Thanks for the tip! Went in and bagged myself 6 bottles today. We had it last year and it was much nicer than many of the cheaper Cavas which can be a bit thin on taste; so getting it for £4.74 a bottle was a nice surprise.
carolineb23 - Agree with you; would definitely rather have a decent Cava than a cheap champagne. Far more flavour, and cheaper. (My biggest disappointment last year was a half price M&S champagne - no better than a basic supermarket Cava).0 -
Majestic champagne offers.
As far as Im aware the " 2 for 1" offers are only if you buy a further 10 bottles of wine, therefore making a case of 12.0 -
just been to WAitrose in Harrogate and they know nothing of the Blanc de Noirs for £12 offer! (its our favourite)0
