I will be in Nottingham on Wednesday night though at Rock City to say good bye to one of my favourite ever bands "Thunder" as they call it a day after 20 years. Will be an emotional night, I haven't been to Rock City since.....(just had to look this up in my scrapbook of ticket stubs, yeah I know I am a man and I live my own).....14/10/97 for Echo and the bunnymen- Thank God it was a cool group and not ugly kid joe ! remember them ?0 -

What a great concert. The Quireboys were just as good as they were 20 years ago and Thunder....What a show. The place went mental and was packed to the rafters. The next morning I had lost my voice from singing and my ears were still ringing.
Condensation was dripping off the ceiling it was so hot in there and I discovered that Aldi deodorant maybe cheap but it is useless from stopping your pits from smelling, I had my arms alft clapping along at one point, then got a whiff and soon had to be the only one without my hands in the air. I believe that they have now added a final (final) date this weekend on the Sonisphere bill, my sister enjoyed it so much that she's going to go again at the weekend.
I took some photos that I was going to post, but I have just had a look and they are rubbish so I'll not bother !0 -

There were loads of ladies there crying at the end, even my sister (likes girls and doc martins) said she thought that Danny was stunning and I must admit he does have the X factor whatever that is in spades, although she also thought that Ben looked like James May ! I've seen them 5 times now over the last 18 years and last night they were at the very top of their game and I've never been to a concert where absolutely everyone was joining in. If you look on there website http://www.thunderonline.com/ you can buy cds of this weeks live performances from all over the UK.:T0 -
Sadly, it appears I am not cool (this is not news to me) as I do remember Ugly Kid Joe - evrythin about you *sad air guitar* though I also have seen Echo and the Bunnymen - don't remember much about the gig due to too much amnesia juice but apparently I snogged a gorgeous bloke . Ah youth....

Honestly- I've seen some shockers. Some were meant to be good and turned out to be awful (Sound Garden, Faith no more, N.I.N.), while others I went to see for a laugh and turned out to be really good (Ugly Kid Joe, Richard Marx). Others have let me down even before I got there- Black Crowes- cancelled, Michael Jackson- took a dirt nap. C'est la vie.0 -
