Just a quick update because im bored!

At work till 8pm tonight, ive done my xmas shopping for the missus.

We agreed at no more than £50, i managed to spend 48.60, that was inlcuding car parking aswell!!!

Just got to handmake her a card now off me and DD, better than buying one hey!
  • Hey mbs1

Just wanted to say good luck with starting your dmp. I am just over a year into one and can say I haven't once looked back. The initial set up is a bit of a nightmare but as long as you stand firm and just tell your creditors all will be fine and this time next year you will be feeling far more in control!

As for overtime, if I get to do any I just put it to one side and hope that in a few years I will have enough saved for full and final settlements.

I find myself now thinking of mini challenges to earn/save more money - it keeps me going as a dmp budget is pretty tight.

It's nice you are making xmas card - might give that a go myself for OH. Good luck with the baby, hope all goes well.

    Take care x

    Thanks for the reply.

It just seems one thing after another at the moment.

Ever since my partner went into labour early at 26weeks.

We're so stressed, hopefully one DS is here, we should get a c-section date on Thurs we can calm down abit.

Im still kicking my self about getting into this mess in the first place.

    So careless.
  • You and me both - I struggled for ages to make ends meet, feeling miserable, out of control etc before finally making the decision to start a dmp. I only wish now that I had done it sooner. Still can't keep looking back, have to look forward and be positive. At least now I can see an end in sight!

You have lots to look forward to, baby and finally getting those finances under control and I am sure in time you will start to see that DFD coming down - before you know it you'll be debt free! This past year has flown by for me.

It does feel like the light at the end of the tunnel keeps getting further and further away.

If only we had started the dmp earlier.
  • You'll be feeling far more settled in a few months - promise!

Who knows what will happen in a few years time, circumstances change. I am really motivated to try and work overtime etc to pay off early or for full and final settlements.

Fingers crossed for lots of positive responses from your creditors.
