Though, its not related to above topic.. i wonder anybody can give me an answer... Will Burger King, McDonalnds, Pizza Hut etc all food shop will reduce their price ?
Will a £5 menu of Burger King will be £4.90 from Monday ?0 -
The answer is.... they'll play the same game as the Government. They reduced VAT by 2.5%, then upped Fuel and Alcohol duties by 6%. As for the fast food companies, they MUST only charge VAT at the prevailing rate, so - if the Happy Meal was £2.99 including VAT (at 17.5%) on Sunday, one may expect a modest reduction. HOWEVER, there is nothing illegal in them repricing the aforementione Happy Meal, so that it is now £2.99 including VAT at the new rate of 15%. That is allowed.0

I'm with 3, and my bill always states the cost of everything excluding VAT, then at the end adds VAT to the total price.
Now, the important thing I want to know is this - if they up their ex-VAT prices, so that a text still costs 10p inc VAT, and my line rental is still £15 inc VAT are they breaching my contract, and would I be within my legal right to cancel early without penalty?0 -
