So... who thinks the mobile companies will pass on the reduction in VAT in line rental savings?
Will Orange's Dolphin 20 become Dolphin 19.50?
Is 3's Mix n Match 300 going to shart costing £14.68?
...and possibly scariest of all, will those T-Mobile adverts start saying "See if you can find more minutes for £29.33?

I think [STRIKE]all[/STRIKE] most companies will simply sit on the saving and keep it as profit.0

legally a company may find itself in court, civil & criminal......
VAT is a tax collected by companies on behalf of the goverment, its not really any companies decision what rate they charge that collection, its the current party in power......if your still paying 17.5 you want to email, call & write your complaintsSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
just read from o2 forum site that they will follow government guidelines re this vat decreased. so 15% vat it is.
as subscribers are being charged in advance, they will even credit the difference for this month's bill (nov) if it covers part of dec.

That's good to hear.0

Yee Haa a VAT change that I will actually notice!
I wonder if they'll change the new tarriffs to be a bit cheaper though, or just add 2.5% extra "value" ie a few extra minutes- that would be pants really, but I can see them doing it!0 -
Will cashback companies try to wriggle out of deals where your £40 tariff isn't £40 any more as well?!!!The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Good point; the rest is mainly nonsense. Companies merely collect VAT for the government - they are obliged to charge whatever the rate is, full stop.0

Technically, most of the personal tariffs show Monthly line rental (inc VAT).
So, O2 line rental £50 inc VAT = £42.55 net + £7.45 VAT
But, now they can show same line rental £50 inc VAT = £43.48 net + £6.52 VAT.
Though, i wish i m wrong
And, business tariffs will be reduced....bcoz they clearly mention Line rental exc. VAT.
So, previously £50 exc. VAT which was £58.75, now will be £57.50.0 -
Well my vodafone bill shows the price before vat shows the amount of vat then the total so i will be expecting my bill to reduce by the appropriate amount or i will give them a call to sort it or cancel my contract0
