Inked Spending Diary.............

Well in addition to that, I was thinking of a bday present for my best friend. Everything on amazon is just mega expensive with postage as well etc. At the end i got those charity things... where you buy something for a school in Africa .. in my case computer training for kids and the money goes there but my mate will get a card and website to say that , thats where the money has gone... it cost £11. I would have spent alot more on amazon and this helps charity. I just really hope she likes it. I love the idea of hampers and making calenders, which is probably something I wil do for christmas... but again postage costs loads so I'll have to take that into account...0

It's great reading your diary InkedElephant. You are clearly making progress; however as others have said, not only are you still spending money on snacks etc, but you are also not eating the right kind of food to get you through the day.
BTW, I'm a fine one to talk, I eat lots of rubbish at the moment; however I'm trying to change and so by advising someone else, I'm also hoping to ensure I take my own advice.
If you have a microwave at Uni that you could use, you could reheat some food that you made at home. Moreover, perhaps you could make one of those chunky soups at home and put it in a thermos flask. Thay will stay hot for a while.
Anyway, keep adding to your spending diary.
I think it's well worth you adding your SOA to your diary as this will enable others to perhaps assist you with other bills / expenses that you have.0 -

Hello, i am fairly new so probably not the best person to give advice but hey i'll try!
From reading your diary, i can see that you spend a fair amount on "snacks" that don't really full you up. So what about making something at home such as sausage casserole (lovely) and make a big batch so you can freeze some, take some to work rather than spending money on something that won't fill you up? I am very pleased to read you have had a couple of NSD, thats great.
Your doing well so far.0 -
I know its *only* tuesday but wednesday soon but ive not spent any money on snacks these last couple days... I have alot of snacks wiht me at uni or i take them with me. I normally take leftovers for lunch. Hopefully I'll get better! Thanks v.much tho :-)0

Hi, I just found your diary and wanted to say it's clear you are getting to understand yourself and making real progress

It can be hard to be disciplined making sandwiches in advance, etc., and of course there will be times when you forget to take lunch with you or something. I guess you just have to forgive yourself & move on - after all, if it was your friend who was hungry I expect you'd say to them not to worry about buying something to eat when they need it, their welfare is important, not just the speed of repaying an overdraft.
Firesidemaid has made some very useful comments, all I can add to that is to plan in some protein each day, meat, fish, cheese or eggs, if you eat these, or vegan equivalents. It really sustains you better than snacks! Also go for low GI foods as they fill you for longer.
You're doing well, keep up the good work
