Inked Spending Diary.............

Heya, I thought I would follow suit and do my own spending diary. I think this will help until I get into a good money saving frame of mind. It also feels nice to be able to be completely honest about my finances and spending habits and it would be great if you could kick me up the backside when I screw up like I have done today!!!
OK so today I spent:
*70p on a cup of tea. - I could have used the coffee room but I needed to escape my lab.
*£13 on wedges and a take away pizza. - I found I had some money on another card I could use. I hadn't eaten properly for a week and today I felt like I needed something and I just didnt want to cook EVEN THOUGH I had leftovers. I feel really bad.
So I spent a total of £13.70. I could have got away with not spending that. I am rather annoyed. I normally spend £15 for a week of food. But I have to go out for dinner again this week as we have to take a speaker out. I am sorry for waffling on and on and on.

On weds we have to take some speakers out for a meal. I am hoping they will pay for themselves but the chair has a habit of choosing really expensive places to eat. But I don't really fancy it but has anyone got any tips on eating out and not looking like a cheapskate? Its just so difficult.0

I am starting to feel guilty abotu spending on teh pizza. Small amount relatively. Maybe I shouldnt eat tomorrow. I dunno.0

Hi,
perhaps if you post your Statement Of Affairs then people will be able to suggest ways you can budget wisely & reduce your spending overall.
Have a look at the Old Style forum for ways to eat healthily on a small budget.
Best wishes0 -
Everyone slips up - don't feel too bad about the pizza! It's a great help to put all your spending down on here really keep track of where your money is going!! Giving yourself a weekly budget really helped me as well - I'm sticking to £10 a week until December pay day and it's hard but it'll be worth it!!
as Lula-Hula suggested put your SOA up and then you'll see just how much of a budget you've got spare after all your bills and everything!!
With the meal out - the only thing I can suggest is don't have starters/puddings and drink tap water. If you're worried about looking a cheapskate then just make up some excuse about being on a diet

Heya Thanks for the help... yeh I'll put my SOA up later on this evening. I had an awful day today. My laptop couldnt be fixed by the free uni technical help people, so I had to take it to the shop and its going to cost £70 to sort out. So thatll be a big spend on Thursady. So I was low about that. To combat that I:
Bought Cigs - £5.60
I had a cappicino - £1.50
Thats all I spent today... but I did withdraw £20... so that should last me for my ticket for a dinner (which is cheap but still costs) and for the lunch and drinks tomorrow... Hopefully... I feel bad about Cigs but I had a bad day and I felt awful. But its to do with my mood rather than anything else. If i am extremely low - i spend on food but if i am extemely happy I also spend on random crap. I only realised this now. Sorry for the waflling about self-discovery...0 -
Heya, nothing too exciting today. Spends = £3 and Leant £2 to someone
1 cappicino - £1.59
1 tea - £1.20
and leant two quid to someone
Very horrid stressful day and all ive had is a tiny sandwich (like a small triangle thing) to eat all day. Toooo tired to do anything else. Going to have to collect my laptop tomorrow which is £70 as its been fixed.
I know I shouldnt have bought those drinks but when people want to have meetings at the social staff place its difficult not to.
Take care you all and have a lovely evening :-)

Heya, hows it going you all?
I spent £3 today:
2.50 on a sandwich
50p on a packet of crisps
I've had a real rough week. I normally make my own lunch but this week has been very tough. Finally going to collect my lappy tomorrow. Found out that a friend of mine is badly injured in India. Very sad. I always feel depressed when I feel spend money and vice versa. Hope you have all had good days :-)0 -
Sorry to hear about your friend in India, I hope they are ok.
This will probably make you want to go out and buy something to comfort yourself! If you do, choose wisely!
Try not to fritter your money away on coffee! Perhaps take a flask of coffee to work? Do they have a kettle? Buy some tea bags!
Every little adds up.0 -
Heya! Hope you are all ok... I spent a MASSIVE amount yesterday both because it was neccessary and it was abit rough.
