    I e-mailed them yesterday and asked what was happening with my order they said i would be getting a letter soon so that doesn't sound too good.

    No, it's OK as they send you your first statement with your account number on it.

    Just got my two free PS2 wireless controllers using the £20 off code.

    Gave me a bill for the other stuff I ordered and they will be returned.

    Yes because no valid source was given and site rules state that codes must have a source and terms and conditions. 'another site' is not valid unless it happens to be the company's own website. Also if a code is subject to abuse it would be pulled by Empire anyway.
    They still have offers on however, if you put in a code and its out of date they come up with a list of ones you (as an individual) can use instead.
