Are you sure that hasn't been changed to 603L since September?
Do you have a Wk1/Mth1 after the code?0 -

OK you are on a non-cumulative emergency tax code. Did you hand in a P45 or P46 to your employer? If not you need to do so right away so that you can get onto a cumulative tax code, i.e. 603L without anything after it. Then you will get any refund automatically.on 12th sept i was paid the code is 603L but this month and last 0543L still
You should still be on 603L - did you not ask why it had changed back?0 -
I had filled in a P60 yes. So am i being taxed too much i really cannot get my head around this im not even sure if ive got back that £60 rebate from gordon brown.
Normally my pay slip says when my code has been changed but this hasnt when its gone back to 543L
Who am i best ringing up tomorrow or going into town to see? The tax office or pay roll?Debts to clearHSBC CC:1000/846 19.9%(atm)Barclay Card: 750/650(o%balance transfer)HSBC Loan:1000/0 COMPLETE!!Capital One CC:200/0 34.9%!!!! COMPLETE0 -

A) Most people won't see a 'rebate'. It works that most would simply see their tax liability reduce by £60 in Sept and £10 monthly thereafter.
Pay roll or HR in respect of the fact your Code moved to 603 and then back to 543. Sounds more like a mistake than a directive from HMRC? Then HMRC if that doesn't resolve it ..... and it's HMRC if the 'Week 1' still applies after you've discussed with your pay people. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
with regarding September I was off lots infact only worked a few days maybe 3 so didn't get taxed anyways. Also my pay is never the same every month due to sickness or whatever else so i won't notice if im paying £10 less?Debts to clearHSBC CC:1000/846 19.9%(atm)Barclay Card: 750/650(o%balance transfer)HSBC Loan:1000/0 COMPLETE!!Capital One CC:200/0 34.9%!!!! I've contacted my agency and they are not sure why I was put on emergency tax. They suspect my P46 never made it to the payroll department. They are sending out a new P46 form for me to fill in...
Am i right in thinking you do pay emergency tax for your very first employment? because this is my first job... even if you do get emergency taxed for a first job, i thought you got this money back.. and it would only last a few months?0 -

You don't need it - Jem gave you a link to download and print the document

No you're not right. There's no reason for anyone with only 1 job (be it their 1st or their 100th) to be on BR.
Of course you get the money back - others have told you how this will be sorted on this thread.0 -
Are you over 65?
If you are you are not due the rebate as over 65s already have a higher personal allowance.
If you are under 65 what was your tax code that is used for your NHS pension?
I am under 65 and this is the answer I received from NHS pensions " I confirm that you tax code was uprated from 34L to 94L with effect from the pension payment due on 3 October 2008 however HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) instructed us to apply these codes on a month one basis. This means that no previous pay and tax is taken into account when the code is applied to your pension and therefore no refund of £60.00 was payable. The tax office said my coding had to be operated on a non cumulative basis. A full check of my tax position will be made after 6th April next. Does this make sense? Thanks0
