I wouldn't recommend cdwow - at all no matter what discount they are offering. They charge your account and then the goods can take weeks to arrive after their release date - and dont be surprised if you get an email then saying they cannot get the item due to supplier problems.... I got indiana jones 10 days after its release date (£7 in morrisons), Call of Duty 5 is lost in the post (not their fault but wont action til 21 days lost also £27 in asda) and Gears of War 2 arrive a week after the release date. Also they wouldnt send me a box set due to supplier issues, even though it appeared in stock a few weeks later.

They may be cheap but they aint good.....:mad:

I ordered a CD nearly 2 weeks ago from CD Wow and am still waiting for it ... they say it is out of stock and they are awaiting it from their supplier even though it didn't say it was out of stock when I ordered it!

Sorry, very poor service and charged my a/c for a DVD that took 12 weeks on pre-order whilst everyone else had and in the end I had to cancel and eventually got a refund...

Will not use again. :mad:

Bangcd have used many times and a lot better!

Does cdwow email when items are dispatched? I ordered my first time with them a week ago and its still saying pending dispatch in my account. I know its not that long yet but compared to play.com and bangcd its not nowhere as good.

How long on average does it go to dispatched?

I didnt pay the 50p extra for delivery insurance do most people pay that?

I have never paid the extra 50p insurance (it is a fairly recent addition anyway), but I guess it would depend on how much you're spending and whether, should the item get lost in the post, you could live with the purchase on your card without the goods.

E-mails - I have received e-mails AFTER delivery of goods!

Delivery times - Depends.
If the item is in stock goods, can be turned around within a week. If not in stock, then I have waited several months for a delivery.
Interestingly - recently I had a CD on order for several months. Cancelled it and got refund. Ordered it again, & this time paid via google checkout and used a voucher, item was delivered within two weeks! Now this is certainly NOT statistically significant, and it could be that the item that was on order previously finally arrived and was able to be dispatched in time for my second order, but I have now started to purchase items from cd-wow via google-checkout! YMMV

However, I have so-far not had any trouble cancelling an order and getting a refund, whichever payment method used.
Though, I no longer buy anything I need urgently from them, just in case there is a delay.
