Let us know, though - call Customer Relations on 0800 282 390 or write to us - Retail Bank Customer Relations, Barclays Bank, 1 Churchill Place, London, E14 5HP. Not only will you help us fix it, you might get something out of it.
I am just going to repeat this and urge you to let us know how bad it's been for you. What would William Shatner do?0 -

Thanks BM
Now, was the Personal Banker today correct in telling me that an in-branch advisor cannot deal with a current account that's been approved via an online application? What is the protocol when it comes to opening an account online?0 -
Breezy, the alternative is to keep Lloyds as my backup account and I hate Lloyds soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that I'd go to any length to get away from them. On the surface Lloyds appear more functional than Barclays, but Llloyds are surely rotten to the core and my local branch of Lloyds is so ghetto that it's like walking into a Hoodies' Chav Knees Up0

I'm *almost* tempted to apply to Abbey now just to see if it's really possible for them to be worse than Barclays have been so far:mad:0 -

From what many have said on here, it seems Abbey make it their mission to be the most incompetent bank out there. This isn't just hyperbole - there was a post earlier on on the forum which described how they sent the customer's debit card to a branch 200 miles away about ten times despite their repeated assurances that they wouldn't, and pushed him onto a phone to speak to a call centre about it or indeed anything else whenever he came into branch. After he managed for months without a card (so with no ability to pay in or withdraw cash) they then took his overdraft away, causing all his DDs to bounce and for him to get charged. After he complained, they then put the overdraft back... only to take it away again later.
So, yes, it's very, very possible. I might not have liked Barclays all that much, but at least I got my debit card.0 -
