Cake Decorating - help please

Options
Have got a Scooby Doo cake tin http://www.wilton.com/cake/shapedpans/pdf/2105-3206ScoobyDoo.pdf and am planning on making my first 'proper' cake for my Scooby Doo mad sons 4th birthday. The making of the cake bit I can do, am a bit confused as to the decorating bit though!

The instructions say I need Tips 3 and 16. Can I get these cheaply anywhere ? - am having trouble trying to find them - but have only been looking on-line at the moment, had to get Christmas out the way before I could think about his birthday!

One other question, although I can make the cake (!) have had a bit of trouble trying to get it out of the tin, whats the best thing to use to stop it sticking?

Thanks

Sue

I find that if I grease the tin thoroughly with butter then add some plain flour and shake aound to coat it. The flour sticks to the butter. My home-ec teacher taught me this in NZ when I was 11!

Not very OS but Lakeland sell Cake Release that stops cakes sticking to molds.

Argh I can't get that link to work. Just copy and paste it or search for Cake Release on the website.

Melt the butter, and grease the tin using the melted butter and a pastry brush, you can get in all the nooks and cranneys then. Then i dust with flour, and i always leave my cake a few minutes before turning it out, not foolproof but works most times.

Anna - thats the same problem as me! I started thinking about his birthday on November because I knew it would be too late if I left it.

Depending on the seller they should get it to you in the next few days. There are two buy-it-now things that may help you, some scooby doo sugarettes and some muffin cases!
The item numbers are 8247581580 and 8247574043 , this seller is really helpful and should do you a buy-it now if you ask - the delivery is quick (well on my experience!)
