Afternoon ladies just trying to catch up a bit with my lunch.
Poffi - have you tried dried apricots - cook in water to rehydrate, cool, puree, give a teaspoon mixed in with rice or yoghurt
Boddy - stamps? can't find the post have I missed something pleaseChristmasshopper wrote: »It seems to be short term memory. She can remember events and people from years ago. But if I say, "Take your clothes upstairs, bring your cup down, put it in the dishwasher, then turn the telly on." She will forget one of the things. I make a point of giving her 4 easy instructions at a time to practice, but it's not working.
At school the special needs teacher suggested making a list but like DD says a list is just another thing to remember.
Hugs Christmas. I think 4 instructions would be hard for quite a lot of kids without any special needs. DS1 (14) would completely forget that, he'd get distracted. Could she make it into a funny story - the clothes are all spotty the cup keeps flying, the dishwasher is playing music, teletubbies are watching tv?
Right need to find my list, have a cuppa and then school run, cake sale and DS3 has a little friend for tea who has not been here before. He is in the other class and was sad when DS3 sad hello as he doesn't like afterschool club so I said he could come with us, he was so happy. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Hi everyone
Well my plans for today went out the window when I woke up feeling dizzy and sick this morning. A & W were great and got themselves organised for school. Mum picked them up and took them for me which I really appreciated. W though just before he left said 'Mummy, you are poorly are you having another baby?' :rotfl: I can just imagine the tongues wagging at school if he went in and told everyone that! Seeing as there is the slight issue of DH being otherwise indisposed it would have to be the immaculate conception which is a very scary thought given the approaching festivities :rotfl:
Anyway I went straight back to bed and slept/dozed all morning, waking just in time to take in a delivery from Parcelforce that I missed yesterday. At least I don't have to trek to the depot to pick that up. Had a bowl of cereal to eat and whilst I still feel a bit light headed things are much better.
CS I can really empathise with your DD I always seem to be forgetting things and it is so frustrating hence me quoting that my saucepan is overflowing! Serena and SarahSh have some excellent points, and no Serena it did not read to me as condesending or partonising at all. My gut reaction to schools atttiude is that they don't want a label as if there is a diagnosis then they and other associated authorities HAVE to provide support and spend money which they don't like doing. You know your child best and if you think something needs doing/assessing then keep pushing and don't give up. I am sure lil_me and pigpen will have their thoughts as well knowing that the have had to fight on occassion to get the help they need for their children.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang

Hi all, I have seen my name mentioned, I will be back later to read through and see if I can offer any help, I am not being ignorant, opposite in fact as I have about 5 minutes before I need to dash to school and would rather read properly and reply properly. I will be back later this evening. Same goes for others, I will try to catch up later
I do want to post these, because I will loose the bits of paper. After some digging as soon as I got back I have last years readings
Electric on 14/11/2007 was 83272 (actual)
Gas on 16/11/2007 was 409 (actual)
Electric now, just read is 90880
Gas now, just read is 824
So electric is 7608 units
Gas is 415 then need to do the changing over to make it kwh, bleurgh I hate that bit, will do it when I get back
I am more than aware we're quite high users (especially considering how much we have been away this year, think we calculated around 50 odd nights, which is why I need to compare/switch now as my fixed price, which according to uswitch last month was £300 cheaper for us ish than any other tariff available ends on the 30th of this month. I will be doing hunting tonight about who to switch to and how. Being heavier on the electric more than the gas, someone said we might be best switching seperately so will consider all options.
Right need to dash to get DS2, will catch up after tea time ish (when DP goes out!) TTFNOne day I might be more organised...........

Ok so not really recoverd from last night and the tummy troubles. Mamaged to get out of bed for 7:30 my dad kindly let me have some extra zzzzzzzzz as he did not need to set off to work until 7:30 so it made sense. My DD got up and followed him downstairs and made her grandad make her breaky.:rotfl:
Managed to get my self in with doctors, they still have not had a letter from the hospital pah! Asked the doctor for some tablets that I need before I go in and he handed me a scrip for the wrong drug.
Phoned the surgery as soon as I realised his mistake, and told them what I needed but they have refused to give me them as I dnt know the strenght and they have no record of it.
My mother has phoned the hospital for me to find out what is happening as I do not have confirmation yet. I am due to go in next week on the 3rd hopefully bed will still be mine.
I have got so much to do before I go into hospital but my gall stones are causing a bit of trouble today. So I am layed on the couch and just had an argument with my mum. Eventually she has agreed to go get DD from school although she aint happy bout it. She dnt like walking that far, but I can not managed that with the pain and sickness and other yacky stuff lol.
I have been out today, had to take gran to iceland so thats taken it out of me, sadly no energy to fly and highly stressed when I look at how much I need to do.
Well thats all for now, I am enjoying being on strike, I did feel guilty but then I reaslied that I need to rest and people need to help me. Gawd I help other people enough lol.
Hugs, and warm wished to all my fellow flyers,
Zoey

Lol Hollyh, I washed DD1's pink teddy last week and the exact same thing happened, she threw herself on the floor as if pink teddy was getting tortured. God knows what we'll do if we lose him. We thought we'd lost him last week and the only place we could find a replacement was on hamleys website. The website was out of stock so I had some poor woman from the Hamleys shop looking round hamleys for him! Turns out they don't stock them anymore, just the bigger versions, but there's no way she will be fooled by that! Fortunatley, we found him in the end, sitting on my Mums cistern!!
I've always told my children from a very young age to leave their most precious toys at home where they won't get lost. If necessary I've quietly taken them off them before going out. I'd rather put up with the short-term whinge of them not taking them with them (and quickly forgetting anyway!) rather than a long-term trauma of losing toys permanently.0
