The tooth's a lot better today thanks Pinkfairy. Your Ds's Gf mum sounds like a right nasty peace of work.

Toast and bed again for me although i've banned eating anywhere apart from the kitchen ( where you can't sit down ) and dining room, and i don't like sitting in the dining room on my own.

    Flylady in need of help!!!!

Please please please please please can any body (particularly aiming this at primary school teachers ;) ) give me a link to some decent numeracy websites for KS2? :o I've already got Primary resources & BBC website (and just got a link to another one but thats more GCSE level), but both seem to be failing me on multiplication & division of decimals. I'm dreading doing percentages :o:o

Froddy fingers crossed for your pupils, I suppose it comes as part of the job, school my DS1 is in there is always someone in hospital :(

Thanks lil_me. Yes, it is a bit like that! I am used to dealing with children having seizures and usually we don't need an ambulance, but yesterday was quite scary as she went blue at one time and her sats were low. Also, she isn't one of those who usually fits much. With some of the others, it's pretty much a daily occurence! Some of our pupils have complex medical needs and will always be quite vulnerable, others sadly have degenerative conditions. But I love my job!

Right off to find my list and post it ready for tomorrow .............

ETA School software (we are allowed copies for this under the licence BTW) installed ready for prep at home:D

Good to know there is ONE person out there who doesn't think software is free . Then again, I'd be out of a job if everyone actually READ the licence agreements!

Crafty - lots of the spices in yogi tea are anti-inflammatory, but you need to pick the right ones. I love them... They're based on ayurvedic medicine, so you may need to read up on what's appropriate for you.

Lil_me - I've lost all my paperwork on the anti-inflammatory diet, but it's now pretty well ingrained. TBH it's pretty much about having a varied diet with the majority of it being vegetables. Will PM you more...

I've done no flying today... spent the day at an environmental conference in Reading, did a bit of christmas shopping on the way home (well I had to walk past the shops to get back to the car :D then came home, ate something and went out to work on the governing body self-evaluation for the school. Apparently I'm going to scare them with my spreadsheet :o . It's just a standard control-gap analysis, but I've been told that although it does the job, it's probably a bit commercial and they won't understand it... Mind you, I think a few people are having problems with the concept of having evidence to support their evaluation. They think saying 'Yes, we're great at that' will be enough for Ofsted... I can see next week's meeting being fun...

My WM is now plumbed in (must find the soda crystals in the garage and give it a cleanout), the walls are plastered and the floor is down. I've just noticed though that the skirting he's put on is stuff with curvy bits at the top, whereas mine are all plain... so I can see I'm going to have to go out and get some of the stuff I want and get it replaced before it is painted... Are men blind?!
  • Helloooooooooooooooo! I'm back! Did anyone miss me???!!!

Sorry it's been such a long time, work has been so busy, stupidly busy and between that and catching up with the bf everything has suffered. BUT i got 5 mins to myself and thought i should check in and see everyone. (and my house has suffered, but dont let pigpen hear, she'll have the fluffy mules out and beat me till its tidy again :o)

I cant believe its Tuesday already and so many posts! flylady must be popular and working for so many people. Does anyone have a run down of whats been going on in the past few months? I have missed everyone so much.

My end its been work work work and a bit more work, together with a mix of seeing the boyfriend at weekends and enjoying the quiet time i get with him, and then salsa classes on a Tuesday night (my one escape) which ive just got back from. I got back from the US on Sunday pm where i went with work, thanks for the lovely messages people sent. We were there for 5 days, 3 work, 2 sightseeing and managed to New York and Washington DC in those 2 days (dont ask how, i'm still not sure!)

But I must get back in the flylady way, life was so much easier that way. So tomorrow I want to...

Monday - kitchen and dining room
    clear and wipe work surfaces
Wipe down all the major appliances.. clean filters/drawers/seals etc
Wipe over the cupboards fronts and kickboards
    Sweep and mop the floors
    Clear and mop/vacuum the floors

Wednesday - Master bedroom & landing
floordrobe clearance in the bedroom - !!!! that means i have to sort out my suitcase which i have strewn all over my bedroom floor.
Sort out your present stash.. less than a month to go now!!.. Do you have enough paper? Does that mean i can just give wrapping paper as presents?
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
    Dust and wipe any paintwork

I am sooo glad i dont have a spare room! I may be able to play catch up!!!

Right I should go to sleep. My body i think is still mid-atlantic so has no idea what time it is...

    Axxx
  • I have a confession to make (whispers shamefacedly) - I didn't do the ironing!!!

I got home from work and just felt drained...........made dinner while DH minced up the brisket for Cottage Pie, then made Cottage Pie filling. Ate dinner and then tried to get my head round Christmas.

SummerMoon, after reading your post, I got to thinking about Amy Daycyzyn and the Tightwad Gazette. She wrote a lovely article about Christmas and how the more gifts a child gets, the less the impact of each one and the less joy they give! One of my grandsons has his birthday a month before Christmas and one year, he was so overwhelmed by the birthday presents that when he was asked what he was putting on his letter to Father Christmas, he burst into tears because he didn't know what to ask for and was afraid Father Christmas would be disappointed:o .
This is not a spoilt child, but he had gifts from his parents, three sets of grandparents, a set of great-grandparents, three cousins, numerous aunts and uncles and all his mum's friends' children and schoolfriends who came to his birthday party that year!

This year, the adult members of the family (i.e. step-daughters and their husbands, DH and I) have decided to give token gifts to each other and have set a monetary limit on the childrens' gifts. We have invited them all over for Yule (which is more important to me too, SummerMoon :D ), as they are going to other parent's/in-laws for Christmas and DH and I have Christmas on our own to do whatever we please!

I am really tired now and think bed sounds a really nice option - hugs and love to all the poorlies (human and animal). Hopefully I'll get out of the hanger tomorrow and onto the runway:D !

    Sleep tight, all!!
