Will there be any clash of interest by installing AdAware as well?

Trend Micro "Housecall" running now but VERY slow.....

Ok System restore

Right click My Computer Icon, Properties, Restore Tab, Tick/Untick
system restore to turn off then run AdAware Scan then turn restore back
on after scan.

Dont forget to check for new definitions aswell before scanning.

Shouldn't be any conflicts...but letting the Anti-Virus scan run its course will probably speed things up.

Ad-aware runs happily alongside Spywareblaster and Trend (the full installed version) quite happily on my machine.

One other point, have you downloaded all the Microsoft patches/updates for your operating system? Might be worthwhile checking that as part of the clean up process (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/)

Are you on dial-up or broadband?

Housecall may run slowly if there is a load of malware (i.e. Spyware/etc) installed on your machine. Malware can be quite bandwidth hungry.

You might have a pron dialler infection. See here.

As you are on broadband it shouldn't be a problem providing you are not connected to a dial-up modem as well. Go into Network Connections and see if you have a rogue dialler in there.

Have you tried Alt-PrintScreen and then pasting into Paint when the pop-up appears?

Definitely looks like Malware. Can't narrow down the possible Malware you've got as it looks like Global Acces S.L are fairly active in distributing this "useful software".

Keep following the steps Intel, I and others have given you. I suspect that Ad-Aware will pick up whatever it is and help you get shot of it.
