ARGH
I absolutely hate Price-drop.tv
There is no way that anyone rings the number that fast, 60 gone within 5 seconds. It's an elaborate scam to get people to watch their channel during the evening in the run up to Christmas.
A total waste of my Saturday night, I hope the channel crashes and burns in the credit crunch, this will not increase future revenue, but deter potential customers.:mad::mad:0 -
I did just that Vibeone.0

I actually suspect that it probably isnt a scam... Myself and the missus both got a 15" LCD with built in Freeview and DVD player for £1.00 the other day.
I was sceptical myself before that!!0 -
I doubt Virgin would be involved in a scam, as most of Bransons empire has been built on taking on companies that he saw as profiteering (and therefore having plenty of large margin that could be tweaked a bit in favour of the punter, and still remain profitable) - genius businessman, which is why he is a hero of mine

Of course, we could be wrong... but why jeapordise the Virgin name for the sake of a couple of dozen TVs? ... come on!In the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate

Branson does not own Virgin Media; he got a few shares in NTL Telewest as part of the Virgin Mobile sale, and he and them agreed that utilizing the powerful Virgin brand would be better than the existing and somewhat wasted brands.
So he licensed the brand to NTL Telewest for 30 years. Just like he does with the majority of Virgin companies. He only actually "owns" a couple of companies nowadays, Virgin Atlantic being one of them. Most of them he either sold and licenses the brand to as part of the sale, or sold but retained a few shares in it and allows them to continue to use the brand for a fee.0 -

They did and a few others, there is a thread in gone but not forgotten. Every now and then they c0ck up at bid.tv or speedauction.tv or price-drop.tv and list as current price £1 instead of bid from £1.
I got a gold necklace approx 9gms for £1 plus p&p. I missed out on the 15" tv and touchscreen mp3/4 player - for which I am gutted.
Watch out for Zippys posts she is great at spotting them.
I was as sceptical as you at first.0 -
They did this type of 'offer' with a Navman SatNav for £19.99 selling at different types, same thing happened, phone lines were opened, and it went instantly, so 200 people waiting on the line paying £1.50..you do the maths!
Avoid I reckon no matter what the 'offer'!0
