OK - according to SiSoft Sandra, I get this:-
Mainboard
Manufacturer : MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
Multi-Processor (MP) Support : No
MPS Version : 1.40
Model : MS-7061
System BIOS : 07/28/2004-KM266-8237-6A6LYM4BC-00
Chipset : VIA KT400/A, KT600
I've listed the options I've tried further up there (somewhere):wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

I must admit I got a little lost with what you described
In theory id have the dvd drive on the END of the cable and set as 'master'
And the hard drive in the middle and set as 'cable select':idea:0 -
Thanks for that - I'll give it a go.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

most certainly the chipset on that board supports ata66/100 normally they give you a message if you try to connect a 66+ drive on a 40pin ide cable so bit baffling that.
again try both drivers as masters on ends of cables ON THEIR OWN, see if bios picks it up then, if not swap cables if still no joy the drive is goosed.must bounced in the car on way homeclick here to achieve nothing!0 -
OK - apologies for the delay but things have been a bit hectic around here!
I've tried every which way I can to get all the drives to link up but I'm getting no luck.I can have the main drive and either the DVD-drive or the new hard-drive. and it's driving me nuts!
I think I'm going to take the plunge and take it to a shop (I know, I know). Now the question is, how much should I expect to pay?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
