    Afternoon All!!! :hello:

Well... what a weekend! Nice not to be at work, but.....

Computer turned off nicely Fri night and then would not tun back on Sat morning. Mental flashing lights everywhere. Did some research and decided it was probably the power supply unit and the mother board. Hmmm(more on this in a mo!)

De-frosted the freezer... well OH had started by the time I got up and then I finished it off. Went food shopping at A**a. Not such a pleasant shopping experience as T***o. And they are really naughty with their special offers, spreading them out over an isle or two - I had to keep double checking that I still had the best price for things - taxing on the old grey matter. Had a headache (again!) and was really not in the mood, but I perserveered and only went £10 over budget! Could be worse!! :o

Bought step-dads present...£45 but £22.50 back from my brother so that was ok.

Went to the pub to watch the rugby.... Cheap though as I was driving and therefore only had 2 peartize's.... nice!

Sunday morning...... Oh went off to the local market (combination of boot fair and traders) for a mooch around (he likes that) and came back about 3.5 hours later with a brand new PC and 19" flat screen moniter!! Having spoken to a couple of people he decided we could spend some money trying to fix the one we had (its about 5 years old) and it may or may not be fixable after spending money on it, so to "cut his losses" he bought a new one. Now I can get the logic on that.... but a new 19" flat screen? there was nothing wrong with the monitor we had..... but the new one does look all nice and shiney and smart!:o Still waiting to hear how much it all came to (wth a new anti-virus package, wireless thingamejig etc. Bet it's the cost of a mid-price holiday for a week for 2! We have a spare 0% card so will stick it on there. Another thing to factor in!! Not adding to my sig though - I think I'll just stick with what I've got ta!! lol

Q.co paid out £4.83 (or there abouts!).

    Still haven't...

Drafted letter to A&L to request higher OD limit
    Chased Amazon voucher from Qype
Called HSBC to change SO date in case its not with A&L by then

Ok - bits for you guys....

Emms - Hope my April date sticks - don't want to watch it slip furhter away - should help keep me focused!! You've seen them have't you? My mobiles!!!..... They are soooo safe I doubt they will ever show up! B*gger

OBNW - So now you're not going to forget my OD free date, I had better stick to it!! Diving in Goa?? Really?

Rags - have a play with the link you gave me. All the techy stuff is done - you just need to substitute your figures (by the looks of it!) If you want a simpler one I could PM or (email you) the basis of mine - although its really, really, simplistic - only covers my OD!!

Right, off for a lunchtime cigarette and then backt o work - will try and drop by your dairies a little later - still no internet at home - computer not set up yet!!!!

    Bye!!

Will I be able to resist Goa?
I'm an advanced diver:rolleyes: and love it, haven't been since Oct when I went shark hunting in the red sea off Egypt, before that it was turtle hunting in Tobago (can you see where the debt may come from) but I'm not proud I'll happilly dive in a gravel pit near Heathrow or off Brighton pier (done both those in the last year too:rotfl: )
NOw start crossing things off that red list.
Emms- have you got access to 'somewhere safe' because I've got years worth of stuff there;)

Spent most of last evening in the loft. It would appear that I (we) have put the disc with the driver for the modem somewhere safe too. Whats the betting its in a box along with the mobiles? We only have a small house and an even small loft, so where do these things go?

Hiya Nats, been reading your diary...it kept me amused during today with all the little stories lol
Ive also done the cash in pocket thing at one point but then always slipped somehow by online spending or god knows arrghh! Right, best be good now. Might go back to the cash as well, I actually had different purses haha, one for essentials like food and work stuff and one for entertainment/everything else.

    "Somewhere safe"

    Definition - That mystical place where you will find;
keys, phones, important bits of scrap paper (with direct phone number to get through to that person in the call centre you were talking to yesterday - now you have to start all over again :(), your favourite CD, certain sized allen key for furniture you need to dismantle, umbrella (only missing when its raining). Pen - just when the phone rings and you need to write something down (will reappear when you don't need it)

    Sorry OBNW - I don't have access.. but if I find it ... I'll be a millionnnnnnaiirrree Rodney ;)

    Good afternoon all! :D

    Well... lets see now....
    • we now have an internet connection at home (good job too as was having withdrawal symptoms after 4 days!). Never found the disc with the driver on it, so installed the new wireless router-thingy... finally got it working at 23:30 :o Not so easy to get up and running when the passwords and usernames for the connection were on the old PC that won't start up - but we got there!
    • FOUND THE MOBILES!!! I knew they would turn up. They were in an old tupperware pot (as I knew full well) and last night (looking for a longer telephone cable) there they were at the back of the bottom drawer. They were not there the other day.... HONEST!!
    • Got another email from Qype - there had been an admin error and I will get my voucher in the next week!
Ok - things still to do....
Call A&L regarding the missing SO's!! (would have done it last night but didn't have time inbetween being a chef and an IT engineer! ;)
    Get prices on re-discovered mobiles
More daily clicks (sooo boring but its free money!)

    Bits for you guys....
Schrojen - thanks for dropping by.... glad you enjoyed the read. Definitely start withdrawing cash again - its the way forward!
Emms - Now computer is up and running will transfer shiny spreadsheet home and keep an eye on it there! (have written on your diary too).
OBNW - thanks for letting me off the naughty step - even if it was only becasue rog2 had been naughtier than me!

Am deciding whether to put all the odd bits of money (a few £'s here and there) that I have in a couple of accounts to help ensure my black day stays where it should be!! Only going to add up to about £15 or so - but every little will help. Also b'day a end of month, so will put any monies in there too. :D

Well I think thats it for now. Oh came home with new speakers for new computer last night  what am I going to do with him? (I have a few ideas... including letting OBNW put him on the naughty step!)

Have a great day all and remember..... "if I'm not writing... I'm still reading, so there is no excuse for you to slack off!!"

Seeeeeeeee.... it was not them 'Somewhere safe' safe-keepers who was taking care of it ... it was them 'Borrowers'... they put it back when you're not around - just make you think you're going mad!!! :p;)

I have a shiny spreadsheet too!! Still getting to grips how to make it 'work' for me... I'm hoping the new accounts thing will be help! (that's the technical term don't you know ;))

Yay to internet connection!! Look forward to late updates like mine! (actually you probably are more sensible than me!!) :o
