Shredded Wheat

Hi everyone,
I've got 2 boxes of mini shredded wheat and no one in the house seems to like it! I was just wondering if any one had any idea's of what I could do with it?
I think if I could turn it into a cake/brownie like the weetabix one it'd get eaten!:D

I would break them up and turn them into little nest cakes for easter.0

You could send them over to me - we love them and cant get them here :rotfl: Sorry that isnt helping you is it0

I'd second the idea of Easter nest cakes - I made them with DD's playgroup 14 years ago & we've all loved them ever since
Shred the little shredded wheat & mix with melted chocolate. Mush into a nest shapes in paper cake cases & put 2 or 3 mini eggs in the nest to complete the effect once they've cooled down  Ooh I'm starving now & no dinner for at least an hour :rotfl:Other than that I'd shred them up & put into something like a crumble topping or a homemade museli
Hope this helps xx

Just found a huge box of shredded wheat (unopened) lurking in the back of the cupboard...not sure why I have it as neither my daughter or I eat it. Anyone have any ideas to use it up?
Would it work in place of weetabix for the weetabix cake/brownies recipes?
Thanks in advance.0 -
I wonder about a little bit in a crumble recipe, or something with a crunchy topping. As it's savoury, mixed with cheese for fish pie topping.
Might be horrible. Just a thought.0 -
Hi Mythi,
There are lots of ideas on this earlier thread:
Shredded Wheat
I'll add your post to that one later to keep the suggestions together.
