I'm also on 8.0.175 but I suppose that being on auto update means we all have the same latest version0 -
Have people tried emailing the support team at AVG about this or checking their website to see if any problems noted ? It could be that one of your AVG files has corrupted for whatever reason. AVG are really good at replying and sorting this out for you. Its happened to me twice before.
Just updated my own AVG and currently running 8.0.199 with no problems noticed.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I have stayed on version 7.5 because of all the reported difficulties with version 8 point anything so I wondered if this was a problem connected to version 8 alone?:eek:0 -

Err yes I knew that. Wasn't the question I asked. Can anyone else offer their thoughts as to whether this is a blip for version 8 only?
Thanks:rotfl:0 -

the avg problem is sometimes caused because your pc loads up avg which then attempts to connect to the internet, before you are actually connected to the internet (connections initialised).
in this case you can manually update after the connection to the internet has been established.
it can also happen if the software on the server is being updated.0
