at the command prompt it says c:/Documents and Settings/Scott1>

so he's put in ren shdocvw.dll shdocvw.old as the instructions have said like so:

    c:/Documents and Settings/Scott1>ren shdocvw.dll shdocvw.old :

but its says system doesn't recognise the file....
we don't understand number 4 either.

    The instructions frommicrosoft website:

Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
    2. On the File menu, click New Task (Run).
    3. Type cmd.exe, and then press ENTER.
    4. If necessary, change to the %SystemRoot% folder.
    5. Rename the Shdocvw.dll file by typing ren shdocvw.dll shdocvw.old.
    6. Restart the computer.
