Bought Milk can from Tesco which was leaking and spoiled my car boot

Take the milk back and ask for a new one, not wise to use a product that has had the seal broken

10past6 and mum2one, well spotted! d.edna does this constantly and I believe (though I am not 100% sure) that she is simply a troll, and not a very good one at that.
The fact that she does one the minute she's rumbled is a good clue, also she responds to my measured arguments with accusations that I am a troll.
So well done for getting rid!0 -

I cannot help but be amazed at the sort of things people get dramatic about - and rush off to find out how to "deal with it"
My first suggestion is to always check your shopping while you do it - if there was no sign of leakage on the checkout - then perhaps the damage to the seal occurred between the checkout and your car boot so hardly something you can lay at anyone's door but your own.
Secondly - If you had any sense you got stuck in and cleaned the boot with some hot soapy water immediately you found the problem and minimised the chances of lingering smell etc. If you didn't you really cannot care that much about your car and its condition. If you did - whats the problem - you had a mishap - its sorted - get over it and get on with the positive things in Life!!John0 -
I hit a nerve with alot of posters there, I've not checked that thread yetNothing Personal but D.Edna caused some controversity over on Money off coupons thread, then disappeared!
Why you following me around troll10past6 and mum2one, well spotted! d.edna does this constantly and I believe (though I am not 100% sure) that she is simply a troll, and not a very good one at that.
Why you also following me trollErrrrrrrrrrrr, humm, strange that because whenever I point out his / her mistakes, they usually do a runner  :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
A question for d.edna. How does people looking at the same boards as you mean that they are following you around and therefore a troll?
Most people here look at the same selection of boards/threads all the time and these are generally the ones that they stop by at and comment on. If you go onto, say, the Money Savers Arms board, you'll find a different selection of regular posters to the Tax board, which will be a different selection of regulars to the Debt Free board, for example.
I see your posts quite a lot on the threads that I look at and you do say controversial things. Sometimes I agree with you, a lot of the time I don't, but that doesn't make anyone a stalking troll. However if you are going to make controversial statements, you have to expect people to disagree with you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Greatgimp, you and d.edna may well be right about who ultimately pays the bill for the milk, but the point is that this is irrelevant. And there is the suspicion from her other posts that she is being deliberately unhelpful and disingenuous. The fact that she accuses people who defeat her arguments of being trolls and quotes selectively and out-of-context from their posts points to possible mischief. Or perhaps she is just like that.
All the customer wants is recompense and Tesco should sort this out if it was their fault. How they deal with their supplier is of no consequence to the customer.
As for whether it IS Tesco's fault, this may not be straightforward for some people because it can be - and has been - argued that the customer should have checked the seal on the container. There is something to this argument but, leaving aside the possible impracticality of checking every seal on one's shopping, the fact is that the first mistake was by tesco for putting a damaged container on the shelf in the first place. I can hear people thinking 'but isn't it just as impractical for Tesco's to check their seals?' Well, they are professional retailers, and have greater responsibility in this area in my opinion. I do accept that the customer checking the seal would have avoided the problem though.0 -
I went to tesco yesterday to get a new Sky Brick. Unfortunately the only two they had, were ripped and torn so I did not buy them. As for the bottle of milk, when gathered from the nitro fridge, there would had been signs of spillage or a loose cap.
As such, I am willing to offer the services of my Pu$$y (darn PC Spell checker) to come round and clear up the mess.0 -
Same thing but different: Went to Makro over the weekend for some Finish rinse aid on special offer, 5 litres for £8 instead of £13. Obviously a popular line as the only two left had been leaking from the top. I compared amount by putting them next to 5 litres of washing up liquid and figured that almost nothing was missing from each. Negotiated with a duty manager to get both for £5 each. Made sure the tops were tight, and got them home without further leakage!0

Yes Freddy, I agree you would normally expect there to be signs of spillage or a loose cap, but sometimes it's not that obvious.
I'm sure if the signs had been obvious, the OP would have rejected the container. She should have checked, I agree, but at the end of the day Tesco put a faulty bottle on the shelf/in the fridge and shouldn't have done. That's my opinion, but the law may say something different for all I know.
In my experience, pu$$ies (I must have the same spell-checker as you) create more mess than they clear up, you must have yours very well-trained!
Well done Greatgimp, by the way, for a great bit of bargaining! You did have one notable advantage over the OP, though, namely that you knew your containers were damaged and took appropriate precautions. But I will try your tip now though, so thanks!0
