Bought Milk can from Tesco which was leaking and spoiled my car boot

Today I bought a milk can from Tesco. The seal was half open and the milk leaked and spoiled my car boot. I didnt notice this until I went home and took out all the bags. What should I do now? I rang the branch just now, but nobody was answering the call.

How to take it with Tesco?

Many thanks,
Abi

Has the same probllem years ago. Went to cusomer services next day to complain and they told us to get the boot professionally cleaned and they paid the bill. About a tenner if I remember.

Of course they might treat you differently, who knows.
  • Update: Just spoke to the Customer Care, she asked me not to clean my boot and bring the can along with the seal. Lets see what happens then!!

As per "Sale of Goods Act"

It is the seller, not the manufacturer, who is responsible if goods do not conform to contract.

Edna, you really must do your research prior to making yourself look a fool :p

That is of no concern to the customer, so why mention it?:confused:
