Boots & Home Delivery network !!!

  • I've just had a problem with them with my exercise bike. They tried to deliver, and I didn't hear the door. Next thing I know Boots are telling me that I rejected my order! I've only placed 2 orders with Boots online and both have had problems, so I won't be using them again.
  • For all the people who have had problems give the number a call on the back of the card and put in a formal complaint and something should be done with the driver at the relevant depot.

From this post then it seems there has been a couple of complaints (ok there may be more) about HDN. I work for them and the amount of parcels that pass through the company is phenominal, up to 120 million items a year. Obviously there will be mistakes by a number of erratic drivers but that is what the company is trying to stamp out. At the depot I work at we cannot tell the drivers often enough that they cannot throw parcels over gates and thet they must be left out of sight and in a dry place.
Not pointing any fingers at anybody but there are some really dishonest people around who frequently claim for parcels that have allegedly gone missing when there is strong evidence that this is not the case, people find it easy to claim and get their money back and then still sit there with the item(s) they have ordered in the house.

There have been other moans on here aswell about other company's so every delivery company must have problems with stolen parcels.

When something has to be signed for this shows that it is an important item that isnt to be just chucked over a fence!

I would be complaining big time to the helpline and demanding a refund of the cost or a new one sent out - if it was guaranteed not to be left in the garden! If they wouldnt comply or accused me I would be contacting the credit card company to see about a charge back if it was possbile

Forgot about that. If I get no joy I will contact my credit card comany. Cheers.
  • We have also had huge problems every time we have used boots.com.

Our main issue has been with the delivery comany they use also throwing things over the back gate.
we complained several times and couldnt believe it when a replacement for a damaged item was agin thrown over the gate.

we eventually got a full refund an some extra compensation but this was from boots.Despite telephonig and writing to the delevery company several times they have not ebven botheed to reply.

we have now started to ask mail order comanies whcih delivery companies they use and if it is one of the ones we have had problems with we either explain and insist they use royal mail( a gamble in itself)or just dont order from them.

I ordered through Boots.com and had no problems but there is always someone at my house to sign for parcels anyway - and they wouldnt dare leave the parcels if noone was about - the dog would attack them - its very possesive! The courier that delivers the next catalogues and deliveries wont even get out of her car - she beeps her horn to get us to go out to her car so she doesnt have to go near the dog - its bark is worse than its bite!

I guess alot of the time the problems boil down to the delivery drivers and the sort of area that you live in!

Sorry to hear you guys have had so many problems with them =/

Have to say that I've not that that many problems with Boots.com. Orders have been sent via HDN and Parcel Force, never *touch wood* had a problem with PF delivering Boots orders (Other items ordered is another matter).

With Home Delivery Network we have and not just with Boots orders.. Although my only grumps about them are..
LEAVE A DAMN CARD TO SAY YOU'VE BEEN! Really, it's not hard to walk two steps and leave a card in the mail box, is it? :rotfl:
    and
Answer the telephone to customers!! Don't leave 20 minutes before 6 or whatever the office hours are, numerous times I've called between 5:30 and 5:50 and my calls go unanswered even though I call during the specified office hours.
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

All drivers MUST leave a card when at a delivery. Checks are made at depots the following day.

Depots should not recieve any calls regarding delivery from the customer, they should be via a call centre which then passes the information onto the relevant depots.
