Boots & Home Delivery network !!!

I've mad at the moment, I ordered about 40 items from boots on boxing day and was told they would arrive on 5th, fine by me. So i walked past the front door this morning around 11.30am and seen a note on the floor it was from Home Delivery Network and saying they had attempted to make a delivery, but at this point i did not know it was boots. All was on the note was the date (30/12) and some scribble which i cannot read under 'parcel on behalf of'.
So i rang the rung the number and informed them that i have been in all day and did not hear the doorbell, she said sorry and will do another delivery on the 4th, as they dont open till the 3rd and they need time to sort the deliverys out, fine i said.
I was in no rush as most of these are presents for next year.
But here is where i'm mad.
I just went out to take the rubbish bins out and we have a 6ft gate at the side of our house leading to the back door and garden. And the bins are stored on the side, so went out at 10pm and seen what looked like rubbish by the gate, went up and it was 2 boxes soaking wet and i knew these were the parcels they attepted to make delivery today.
Not only did he just threw them over, it was 2 boxes he threw the little one first and then the big and very heavy one so it just squashed the little box. I went to pick the big box up and it just fell apart in my arms, i at this point was soaking as it was still drizzling aswell as the water collected on the boxes.
I did manage to get them in and went through them and lucky most of them were in plastic bags but 7 things are ruined or really damaged.
These were 2 packs of Xmas cards, 2 nail sets in carboard boxes, 1 cosmopolitan cardboard tin squashed and wet, 2 tea tree sets in cardboard sets soaked and a hamper in a weave basket squashed and soaking wet.
Now the rest was either in plastic sets (fcuk) or in plastic bags lucky.
Now most of these items are out of stock on the website, i dont really want a refund what are my options here?
Wanted to write this down now as can come back when i calmed down so knew how mad i was.
Thanks

Phoned boots they offered a refund or replacements but everything that was damaged was out of stock. After speaking to their supervisor they offered me a 10% off the order. About £8 or so.
So not that bad and most have dried out now.
Still need to phone the idiots from Home Delivery.
I'm expecting another delivery from them anytime will give him a mouthful if still the same one.0 -
is it any wonder people are starting to be dishonest and say they didnt receive the items when they turn up like this.. had something similar happen during the year it was a specialist pillow and it got ripped and soaked whilst i was away at easter. company told me to keep it and they sent me another one.. keep it binned it wasnt worth keeping ..herbal wrote:Phoned boots they offered a refund or replacements but everything that was damaged was out of stock. If the items were in stock i would have got new ones and left this lot outside for them to collect, bbut as everything was out of stock it was the best they could offer me only after i pushed them for compensation.
I could'nt say i had'nt had it as it's a 6ft gate and with a bolt on the other side.0 -
my other half got a delivery from screwfix direct chucked over a six foot fence.. all the items didnt work.. he got replacements eventually. couldnt say you didnt get them it would be your word against theres so to speak.. can imagine the driver admitting to chucking it over a 6ft fence lol... ive ordered somethings for my daughters birthday on the 6th hope they dont get damage or i will damage someone else lolherbal wrote:If the items were in stock i would have got new ones and left this lot outside for them to collect, bbut as everything was out of stock it was the best they could offer me only after i pushed them for compensation.

I was told my Boots order would arrive in Jan but got it on Friday instead - luckily I also had a couple of items that needed a signature otherwise I'm sure it would have been a drop and run. I've regularly found my items stuffed inside my bins! And Viking Direct left my leather chair outside my front door in full view (can't really hide it anywhere I suppose!). Once I rescued my parcel from the hands of a binman!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0

I received an order from them last week (it was meant to come on the 5th). It was supposed to come in a few boxes...I was out, came home and found only one box ouside!0

If you have not signed for the goods then they have not been delivered, regardless of where the courier left them.0 -
Seems I have fallen foul of this delivery company as well.
I ordered 2 bags of huggies and an Ipod nano last week and was out on Wednesday when they "delivered".
Even though the package needed a signature, the delivery company shoved a slip through the door stating the parcel was "at rear of house".
When I went in to the back garden, there was a large box, ripped open and an Ipod short!
I have just emailed Boots to tell them I am disgusted and want them to rectify this situation. (replace the ipod).
Reckon I will get anywhere?0 -
They cannot refuse to give you a refund or replacement - the delivery is not complete as you never signed for the goods - therfore you have not accepted them - the courier company is responible (but that is Boots concern not yours). Just stick to your guns IF they try to fob you off.0
