    Most firewalls can be configured to allow particular ip addresses or address ranges, once you've established that it was blocking the access try to configure it accordingly.

    It was the firewall on PC1.

    Without this thread I wouldn't have had a clue about IP addresses and when I checked my firewall, I recognised PC2's IP address and gave it permissions - so now I've finally had the printer come up in the browse for printer option.

    The printer is contected to PC1 which is connected to the router.
