    Hi guys

Like I said before thanks it all works great...........

Well when I disable the firewall anyway otherwise I get a pop up on the desktop about a system process and an error on the laptop.

I am running Kerio (sunbelt software).

Can any of you guys tell me if

    a) I can configure the firewall to
    b) how to do it?

If you need any further details let me know

    Thanks in advance

  • This exact same setup works for me, thanks for the instructions guys. I'm running Windows firewall (SP2) on both machines and no problems with having to disable anything. Everythings behind the routers firewall too, not sure you need Kerio really.

Disabled Firewall, changed a couple of settings and it's fine now after I re-enbled it.

Stupid question but how do I know if everything is behind the Linksys Router Firewall?
  • Go here and run some of the scans.

You'll need to find out pc2's IP Address to ping it from PC one.

On PC two, open a command prompt, type ipconfig then note down the Wireless Adapter's IP Address. Go to PC1, open a command prompt, type "ping " then the IP Address of PC2 (without the quotes). You should get 4 replies.
    HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!! :o

I'm also having problems and have followed all advice up to this point:-

    Ping'd PC 2 from PC 1 = 4 replies
    Ping'd PC 1 from PC 2 = 4 timed out = 100% loss :(:(

    Help??

    TIA

Does PC1 have a firewall? Can you ping pc1 using it's ip address instead of the name?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Do I disable it temporarily and try the ping test again? If so, ... then what??

And to clarify, you think it's PC1 that is causing the problem?

    TIA

    UPDATE: :j :j :j I've done it!!! I've actually done it!!!!!! :j :j :j

    Cheers Matey! :T :T :T

I also think PC1 is the problem, however temporarily disable firewall on both machines and try pinging. Then run Control Panel - Network Setup Wizard and choose the share files and printers option.

Is the printer connected to a router or to another computer?
