I put a tablespoon in a tub and sit it in boiling water until it melts, then down it like a shot. I always make sure i have juice handy to take away the horrid taste though!!
I dont really use it for cooking much either. occasionally with Quorn or eggs it is ok.
Hope this helps u.xxI love my boys! William born 08/01/08 and andrew born 22/2/09.0 -

I bought the cheapy jar at the chinese supermarket in Maryhill the other day but am scared to take too much in case I irritate my gall bladder probs. I put a wee scraping in coffee last night and was ok with that tho i think its definitely an aquired taste

I'd imagined that I would put some in a separate tub to use for my skin, but its really solid
This has probly been asked before but do you melt it first, I was goin to use it the same way as salt scrub in the shower. How do you apply it???cheerio hen0 -
I dont use coconut oil for cooking but I use it with cocoa butter (half and half) to make a moisturiser but it works quite good on its own.
THought this website might help everyone save a bit of money by buying it in bulk (as it doesnt go off for ages)
Cosmetic grade coconut oil can be bought from
http://newdirectionsuk.com/shop/products.php?id=10&cp=1
1kg is £5.00
5kg is £20.00
Its a really good (and cheap;)) site to get raw materials for beauty products aslongs as your not too fussed about not ingesting it!0 -

I've got a bag of dead sea minerals sat in the bathroom, do you guys think it would be a good idea to mix the salts with coconut oil to make a body scrub?0
