What sort of thing do you wear for Christmas Day?

Just wondering what everyone else tends to wear for Christmas Day.
Do you (women!) wear a "bought for Christmas" dress? Or something more comfortable like smart trousers and top? Or slouchy trousers and tshirt?
Is it 'appropriate' to show off a bit of cleavage at the family Christmas dinner?

Depends on so many things.... staying home with visitors , going out for the day...a bit of both...
If its just OH and I at home we tend to put on something comfy trousers and shirt or similar.. dress up a bit if going out even to family.... cleavage is ok if you don't mind risque comments from sozzled male family members :rotfl:#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

we have proper party frocks. Started when my sister and I were in school and had the christmas parties and those dresses were worn to church in the morning so they were worn for dinner as well and now we dont do parties or morning mass we still have a special outfit for dinner- I'm usually in my prom style dress and slipper lol.

I use to always get new jeans and top for christmas and then wear that always had something new, but never a dress or anything as posh as that just something nice and new. But this year is my little boys first real christmas, last year he was to small to really care so this year im just going to wear an outfit I already have, nice but casual. Im going to crawling around the floor playing with toys, so no point in ruining new stuff.0 -
I don't dress up at all. Stay in PJs until dinner but I will get dressed to sit down to eat. I don't buy new clothes but it will be something clean and comfortable - tracky bottoms and a warm jumper

Generally I'll wear jeans or black trousers and a nice top - red of course! Last year was a pure silk £90 Pink Soda top - on the sale in TK Maxx for a fiver!
