  • so there is no way to burn them to dvd without converting it
whats the point of a dvd that plays divx as if you have say 3gig that needs burning you would use 4 or 5 cds when you could just use 1 dvd

I've got loads of DivX movies I've burnt onto DVD. If you are doing them as a data disc, there should'nt be a problem.

This seems more of a problem with your software. What is the error message you are getting? I use Nero for doing exactly what you are trying to do. I've never had a problem with DivX and DVDs. They burn and play fine for me.

Yes they burn fine to dvd. If you want to convert then assuming you dvd player doesn't support mpeg 4 (DivX or XViD) then DVd santa is a very easy tool to use and is very quick to decode. You can try the trial version

It depends on the file size really they normally come as 700mb, 250mb, 350mb are popularly sizes. You can fit 6X700mb and still have almost 300mb left assuming its a 4.3gb disc.

I also rate DVDSanta for this conversion.

I see that the OP mentioned his DVD player is DivX compatible, so there should be no need to convert the files.

When I put multiple DivX files onto DVD or CD. When I put them in my DivX compatible DVD player, I get a menu list up at the beginning with each file listed. I select which file I want to watch, and they run fine.
