Have spent a tenner on 2 tickets to the local pub which includes a buffet about 20 quid on drinks and i can walk home which is great. So £30 in total moneysaving is essential in our household at the moment being as the boyf wrote off my car on Boxing day! Heres to a better 2006!0

Was going to spend around £200 for both me and my girlfriend (2x £25 on Night Club tickets, £55 on Hotel room, £60-80 on drinks and £15 on a taxi)
Just this moment I’ve decided against it. The last few years I’ve done this, the nightclubs are always packed, the drinks are stupidly over priced and even though I’ve budgeted for it, I spend half the night until I’m drunk quietly thinking what a waste of money!
Then afterwards joining the half mile queue for a Taxi in the cold rain, just to pay the outrages 3am New Years day fee which works out at about £15 for the 5 minute journey!
Yes there are plus points to going out, I would see my mates and most probably have a good laugh welcoming in 2006 with them, but I’ve done this every year since I was about 16!
This year I’m going to give all that a miss save myself some money and have a quite night in with the girlfriend.
Nothing wrong with renting a decent film, opening a couple of bottles of champagne (which I got for Christmas) and having nice meal!0 -
We have spent £80 on car hire because we are spending the weekend with friends in Derby. It's a lot cheaper than train tickets would have been though & easier to carry stuffStill wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0

You forgot the dog ends down the toilet and vomit behind the sofa:snow_laug .
We are going racing New Years Day (plan to win enough to set me up for year  ) so staying in a Travel Inn. oh the glamour! Will be tucked up in bed by midnight with a tub of Pringles.....
Does ANYONE actually enjoy clubs / big parties on New Years Eve any more????A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

We're off to a chums for a wee party, so £3.99 for a bottle of pink fizzy and we'll take the leftover Xmas fizzy, some orange juice too and munchies too.
All in all I think we'll have spent about a tenner between 2. Not bad :snow_grin0
