But is also VERY VERY boring, especially knowing most people are out enjoying themselves. I know this as I had tickets to go out last year but couldnt because I had tonsilitus.. SO im going to make up for it this year.

Kareoke party at home, with my kids, Hubby, and my best friends family. I have a feeling the adults we be having all the fun again like last year. lol :)

Also bought the ps2 BUZZ game, looks like some great fun. It's much cheaper than going to any pub.

I've budgeted £30. Going to my local pub so the ticket was free and I'm staying at a friend's so I don't have to pay a fortune for a cab home

Was going to a free party but was cancelled so £15 on ticket for local pub with live band, £20 ish for meal out, and then about £20 for drinks - a whopping £55!

Here's a method to recreate an authentic NY's Eve feeling in your own home.

    1) Open your front door and invite passing strangers into your lounge until it's heaving with them. Encourage them to smoke heavily.

    2) Have your spouse take twenty squid from you just to get into the lounge that has been free to enter for the previous 364 days of the year.

    3) Obviously you're drinking your own booze; to replicate the expense, for every one you drink give one away to a stranger.

    4) Turn out the lights and turn the music up so loud that you can only communicate with the stranger squeezed against you, and even then only by screaming.

    5) Ensure that the music is selected by someone with wildly different taste to yourself.

    6) When midnight happens, savour the widespread feeling of pointlessness and watch the drunk strangers getting very intimate propped up against your wall.

    7) Go to bed and lie there for an hour, unable to sleep due to the noise coming from your own lounge and those of your neighbours. Work out how much money you've spent and think about how you could have had a much nicer time on almost any other evening of the year.
