I also think the problem is my husband :D He doesn't really discipline her much and lets her get away with more than I do. He thinks I'm too hard on her. The result of that has been that our daughter thinks her Dad is the best thing since sliced bread, and she ignores me when I ask her to do anything because he doesn't back me up.

For all the mistakes we are all guaranteed to make as parents, the most obvious can try to avoid is the "good cop bad cop" routine. If we don't then even the youngest child will work that one out and play one off against the other. ALWAYS present a united front, and if there is a decision made that the other disagrees with , wait until the child is out of earshot before discussing it.

It sounds like you and your DH would find the nursery workshop helpful, even if it is for your DH to hear from other parents that 'x' type of behaviour is unacceptable in their eyes too.;) Of course maybe Mum needs to loosen up sometimes:confused: not knowing you, we can't really say, can we?

I remember readings years ago before I had kids it was good to surprise them once in a while. When kids were expecting punishment for bad behaviour sometimes after the telling off it's nice to surprise them with a big cuddle instead of a punishment. Only once in a blue moon though!!

    Good Luck!
