Speaking personally, it just baffles me how many people will stand in a long queue because they refuse to use the machines (which are actually more secure than the counter in many ways...)
Speaking personally, I would rather wait in a queue and deal with a human being.
It benefits us both.
I get a nice smile and a hello, and the bank cashier doesn't become an extinct breed.0 -
I understand that it is not viable to be able to check loads of accounts but my point is why is the dd not unpaid at the end of the day instead of the begining? why dont they set their systems up like that?. I used to work for RBS so I also know that technicaly they charge you for being overdrawn but on their system the dd shows up as unpaid so the money never left your account in the first place. How can you then be overdrawn?. My husband paid money in for me last week to cover a dd at 1pm and told the cashier this he was told it would be paid. Lo and behold a few days later a letter arrives dd not paid a charge of £38 applied and a charge of £28 for being "overdrawn". I went and complained yesterday but they have to do a customer concern before giving me the charges back even though they could see the money was lodged. Money making scheme for them in alot of cases0

That is all that banks are concerned about. Customer care, levels of service and competively priced priced products do not matter at all. Screw the customer, screw them hard, then screw them again. Thats the banks for you, all of them, without exception. QEDDon't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Haha thats appaling. Its people like you that annoy everyone else you realise?
People need to go to the cashiers because theres nowhere else to go. I hate people that go to cashiers when they could go to a machine.
You realise even though they give you a nice smile they are actually thinking the complete opposite of you?inmypocketnottheirs wrote:That is all that banks are concerned about. Who do you bank with? I find it depends who and where you bank. My home town HSBC are really good, the one at uni is just a pain and I get evil looks whenever I go in haha. Also I have found Egg to be really good with customers and I think others have also said.0 -

So true I sincerely hope that when this charges thing is looked into that they are asked "how come you are charging the cusromer for being overdrawn but their money never left their account as there was a big red U beside their dd from midnight. would love to see the answer to that one. Having worked in the bank I can say that there was some staff who really did care about the customer but these tend to be the older staff who have been with the bank for ages. The managers only care about selling and hitting bonus.0 -

Right now I bank between Citibank (cos of the £500 interest free overdraft, Euro and Dollar cheque book accounts with the usual bundle of semi worthless freebies, i.e. travel insurance (actually that is worth something to me) and mobile phone insurance) I pay £10 per month and Alliance and Leicester, with whom I pay no monthly fee and have a £900 interest free overdraft.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

They can 'think' whatever they like - but ultimately their role is to provide me, the customer, with a service.
My view (and I am entitled to an opinion) may be seen as old fashioned by some, but I am a person not just an account number.0 -
