I managed to collect together some bits of old gold jewellery that I have not worn for years, and they hold no sentimental value for me, so I took them to a store in town that buys gold and managed to get nearly £100 for it! So I stopped off at a little stall that does hand made soaps and treated myself to a couple of bars (a patchouli one and a musky one) and some lavender essential oil. Consequently I now have a very fragrant underwear drawer and we are having strawberries and cream tonight! One life - your life - live it!0

What would you say to a friend who felt like you do at the moment?, something nice I bet. Have faith in yourself.
the last bits true as when Im down Mardatha always pulls me up and gets me busy again - now she has me knitting socks!
As for the cash for gold thing, they also take silver, I sent off all my odds and s**ds of silver and got 27 quid a few months ago :TClearing the junk to travel light

I'm having an "off" spell. I didn't get the veg sorted properly and its all coming up together like a jungle. The strawberries have a black mould. I am wearing the husbands old socks (size 11 !!) because I gave my daughter all my hand knitted socks & I have no tights left and no money to get any.
Somebody slap me hard to stop me whining ! LOL
((HUGS)) to you Mardatha!
You need to have a nice cup of tea and a biscuit and some r+r!
But socks?? in this weather??
We have planted our veg in nice neat rows but Mother Nature has her own ideas 'cos we have potatoes growing amongst the beans, beetroot has migrated towards the courgettes....and the courgettes are threatening to take over the entire bed! they are big strapping specimens with plenty of flowers but not many female ones
Really need a break in the weather and some - the lawn is frazzled and so are we:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

You forget where Mardatha is. It's not nice up there atm.
Regarding those places that buy your gold, they're making a killing from what I've seen. They buy the gold at only a small fraction of what it's worth.
However, Mardatha, I'm glad you got a nice amount.0 -
Wasnt me who got money, it was somebody else further up the thread. I have no gold LOL just a wedding ring !0

Don`t know which hill you are up Mardatha, but I`m up here in the north east and someone said to me today that it felt like the `back end` of the year (autumn) too true, had to put on a thick jumper as it was so cold indoors. Hope it warms up a bit again, maybe that was our share of summer last week ??Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

I'm up in the border hills psso, and its a horrible day again today..says 17C on the forecast but it doesnt feel like that here. Only good thing is the tatties & onions will enjoy it ! This is the Edinburgh trades fortnight - and they have famously bad weather. Hopefully we will get another wee taste of summer.
Sometime LOL !0
