Hi
I've just been looking at the Approved Foods website. When it says 'full date' can anyone tell me what sort of dates they're sending and if the ones without this are really short dates. Theres only 2 of us so I don't want loads of something with a short date and end up wasting it you see.

I realy feel, since we do feel so much better after having no heating up until now(we don't even have a gas fire) that it just is'nt that healthy to be breathing in hot air all the time.It is'nt that hard to stay warm you just have to adapt and we certainly don't intend to go back to our old ways.
I certainly agree with this - when I was 12, and first diagnosed with asthma, we had only just moved into a house with warm air central heating - which was absolutely useless for heating the house (I seem to remember the thermostat being on full all the time, but we still got ice inside the windows). The only thing it was good for was blowing all the dust around the house and into my chest.. When we moved from that house, 16 years later, my asthma improved considerably..:jSMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)0 -
I think they have done loads of surveys & tests and it is generally accepted that when more and more people started to live central heated homes, the rates of childhood asthma shot up.0

Good evening everyone and thanks to all of you who posted kind words and hugs re: purse. A much better day today thank goodness and I always enjoy reading all of the interesting and informative posts in this forum. I might give Approved Foods a go myself as it looks great and its always nice to get a bargain. On this note I was chuffed to pick up 3 tubs of Tomato and Marscapone Sauce for the knock down price of 19p each and a 500g tub of yogurt for 19p also. Even better, the sauce can be frozen so I won't be eating pasta for the next 3 days:D. Also, I managed to repair the broken zip on a really nice leather purse that I had, my dear dad, sadly now not with us, showed me how to do this years ago and it usually works. So all in all not a bad day.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Hi all
Elizabunny sorry about the theft, and glad you are feeling a bit better today.
I have an approved food order pending in the basket and am torn whether to order or not, it is worth around £30 but any day now I also need to put through my regular wholesale wholefood order, which is prob. going to be more than £100 (stocking up on olive oils and a lot of organic grains for the winter), so perhaps the jams and biscuits are a bit of a luxury, even at 60p a jar...
Please count me in on a dumpster diving expedition, I used to do this many years ago when nobody had even heard of it, it was just me and the husband of a friend of mine (Polish family) at the time this was considered really weird, but we used to come back home with bags of potatoes, fruit, bread and great stuff. Everybody frowned but nobody ever challenged either of us. Soon after, they locked the bins (silly bu**ers!). This was a Safeway store at the time.
I would love to be freegan, but I know that my family, no matter how frugal-trained they are, would be horrified. Also I do not have anyone to go with, and I do not have a car (for transport and quick getaway if necessary).
Appeal to any SE London aspiring freegan: fancy a little adventure around the bins of Greenwich? hehehe
Time for me to go to catch on some beauty sleep, ciao all! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Dreadful today I have to say. Just started the best job I have ever had with a lovely large company which has great prospects and they offered me a pay increase cos I impressed them so much. This is only halfway through my second week while I am still in training effectively. Today there was a message on my answer phone when I came home from work. I won't be required. 2 days before the Xmas Party I was invited to and felt a part of the XX company family. I had already bought some costume jewellery and a wrap to jazz up an old dress cos it was black tie too. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
